This would be a great signing if it was to happen. A Cadishead lad who also supported the club as a kid. I honestly think he could be a catalyst for younger local lads actually seeing Salford as an option and boosting the academy in the process.

Singleton (Mellor) Byrne…..Ormondroyd (Davies) Bullock…Lewis (Atkin) Pye ….Wilson (Shorrocks) Wright

Speaking to a number of Wigan fans there is increasing belief that Liam Byrne will be a Salford player next season. They are suggesting that Byrne will go us and that Cooper will leave. Byrne is also getting very little game time under Matt Peet, he did not feature from the bench v KR. What are people's thoughts on this one? They might also as local lads take his example and go to Wigan, same as Hansen and Partington in the past. Alternatively they may now see Salford as a place they want to play |

I think there's a huge and interesting shift on here.
Sadly, and I'd like to be wrong, Byrne is unlikely to join SRD as I think we're still in the category of getting what other's have failed to notice and I imagine it will be few years before can move up the ladder on this point.

I should also have said fell out of the reckoning, a bit surplus however good or promising! etc etc etc
It'll be interesting to see how Ollie goes next year, I think les Cats will be a far stronger side but that will also include Hull and Cas!
And there's a few players who've signaled they're leaving their respective clubs with no destination identified as yet, anyone heard owt?
