Chinese billionaires buying the club. Had a chat with them afterwards in the posh bar in west stand and they're reinstating Marwan as CEO. Degsy will be his #2 and JJR will be at beck & call to serve them in platinum dining.😉 Joking aside, very happy with the win tonight. As said we try to put a bit of jeopardy into the result with a few dodgy plays the last 20 mins but we were good value for the win. Couple of minor gripes to air but I'll leave that until tomorrow and enjoy my 4-pack of Strongbow on the last train home to Southport instead. Sleep well folk!👹👹👹 I'm disappointed in your choice of Cider. Try Thatchers Gold. It's not Thatchers but a definite improvement. Sadly there was no "choice" as it was all that was available from the corner shop near Salford Crescent!!! Now apologise immediately peasant!😁 I'm an Aspall guy if it's available.... or Westons or Thatchers.😋 |

I think Hankinson has done well but he lacks pace and is really a centre, I can see him moving to SR at some point too, especially if we have an injury there (Rowley also likes that kind of player). Partington is a better player than Shorrocks and I'd rather a bench of two out and out props, plus Wright and Atkin than put Shorrocks in there for any of them. Atkin is more versatile in the backs and the others provides more go-forward. I've been surprised and impressed by Bourouh so far, but I still think Mellor is a more rounded player and so I would play him instead. |

Fantastic win, Lam is a class player. Our forwards played well, Lafai and MacDonald made yards, Mellor excellent at 9 and Sneyd running the game. As has been mentioned our edge defence is poor we gifted Hanley 2 tries this needs fixing ASAP.

Don’t take away from Leigh tho, some great plays out wide by them…they’ll be a handful, when they get their big men back
But great display by us…especially since we’ve got a new spine, which when it gels we’ll get better

Dixon, what I meant was that Leigh are a good team using the edges and hard to defend against; we did well against them, especially since our spine still developing…agree re Murphy

The rest are ok, how many of their backline get in the Salford team? I know you admire Leigh and the Beaumont empire but them scoring was more about our utter crap defence than Leigh ripping us to bits. Cross is a serial offender for rushing in off the wing and Ryan was caught out twice against a team bar Hanley that lacked pace. The sooner we use a sliding defence the better rather than this stupid **** or bust rush defence, it means we gift teams points. |

I think Leigh are a good attacking side, and their tries still needed someone to pull the right strings. That person was Lam. Equally, we need to be able to adapt our defence when we play certain teams. We got caught out wide because we were playing against one of the best halves in the SL. Against quite a few other clubs, our rush defence is and will be effective most of the time. Teams with talented halves will exploit it. I think we need to play a more sliding defence against the teams with quality in the halves, but I also think a major shortcoming is that we got caught out wide but didn't adapt. Saying that, anyone who's played the game knows that knowing the player standing either side of you out wide is also key to solid defence. Chopping and changing wide personnel leads to a more shaky execution. The season is still early and players are still getting used to how each other play. Like every season at Salford, we need the first third of the season to find our groove and to be fair we've played good barring the CC blip. |

As you know if it isn’t instinct a moments hesitation and it’s gone
But Leigh do have a lot of variations out wide and difficult to defend against; good in attack. Be interesting to see how Wigan defend against it

I am pleased Hanley has got a shot he has taken his chance, most of Leighs backline in 30 plus. |
