Hopefully I'll make kick off but will be touch and go thanks to the ****-show that are Merseyrail & Northern Rail. Any deaky to this bus I'm on and I'll be missing my 1.30 connection from Lime Street.☹️
I think the lads will get the job done today. Plenty of positives to come out of Leeds last week so if our attitude is right then I'm expecting a fairly comfortable win by a couple of scores at least. As already mentioned though, just hope our discipline is good and we're not the victim of the random red cards being thrown around at the minute.🤞

Probably for the best with Nofo. Would doubt he's up to speed with such a late arrival so give him a week of decent training under his belt and unleash him on KR next week.😎 Just arrived back home after abandoned commute to the game (via Liverpool☹️). Really need my car out of the garage as just can't rely on our shocking trains. That 17 looks more than good enough to do the job. Hope you lads & lasses get the atmosphere going. |

Ill discipline and edge defence needs tidying. We are overly aggressive time and again when they are 20m out. There's no need. A better team would have put 4/5 past up by now. Cust, Hank, and Cross, just need to hold their spaces a little better and better patient.
Other than that we've had a solid first half. Key try before HT. We've managed a lot of repeat sets, which is a big plus. That extra defending should tell later in the game. We could do with Brierley injecting his pace a little more in the second half to take advantage of that. We need more out of acting half too. Distribution is a little slow and we're lacking the threat of a dummy half runner which Atkin should rectify—taking advantage of tired legs.
The right edge could be very dangerous but whether it's Cust, Brierley, or Watkins passing the ball to Nene, they need to straighten up a bit first, then pass, to keep the defensive line honest and freeze a player. Each time Nene gets the ball he's got two defenders on him as the inside man isn't being held up, which, in turn, means Nene can't draw the winger before passing to Hank. I guess this'll come as the new guys play with each other more.
Lots to build on... now for the second half 💪

So where to start with that half?!🤷♂️ Flew out the traps and could've been 18 points up without the Hooley intercept. Credit to Cas though who withstood an onslaught to get back in the game.
Main talking points...
1) Ridiculous try by MacDonald👏(borderline offside but too close to call I think)
2) 6 agains (for both teams) - I'm struggling to see what they're for as I thought both teams cleared the ruck pretty quickly. Certainly didn't spot any excessive lying on. They've had a massive influence on tries at both ends of the field as we've both benefitted from multiple back to back sets.
3) Senior no try - again very close call (isn't there a zoom option on the cameras to make it easier for the video ref?)
4) Wingers still jamming in too much and leaving us exposed outside. Can't be giving teams walk-ins in the corner from poor decision making.
5) Excellent short kicking game from Sneyd.
Good game to watch for the neutral. Just need to blitz them again early in 2nd half and give ourselves a points buffer as Cas carrying a decent threat of their own.

Does anyone know if Atkin has a knock? Seems strange to only give him 18 minutes or so. We've been crying out for some peace around the ruck.
Sidenote: I'm in the East Stand today. Decent atmosphere and age better view than the South Stand.

Jesus f*cking christ... I've just aged 10 years in 10 minutes. Awful discipline at the end & we tried so hard to shoot ourselves in the foot there. I'll take the 2 points but dear god we made that so much harder then it needed to be.😰😰😰
