Really sad news.
He will always be a bonafide Salford legend - 350+ caps and 10 years as captain.
One of the hardest working, grittiest and courageous players I've ever seen grace the Salford shirt.
Thoughts are with his friends and family x

RIP to an absolute legend of Salford
I know it early days but I hope the club remembers a player who served this club with everything he had and celebrates his life and achievements

Thoughts are with his friends and family x Absolutely a Salford legend. A true warrior on the pitch and unbelievably loyal when he could've no doubt gone elsewhere and earned more/won more trophies. Tragic loss. RIP Malc xđšx

Can't quite believe this, obviously thoughts with his family and loved ones first and foremost.
In my opinion among the top ten SRD players, signings and legends.
RIP Malc!

Horrible news âšī¸ All any fan ever wants is to see a player give as much for the shirt as they would give if they had the chance, Malc always did that and more. Salford legend, thoughts with his family

My overriding memory of Malc was when he made a comeback after a long lay off due to a hernia operation. On his first match back, after playing for the whole game, and despite Salford losing heavily, he chased back an opposing player for over 60 yards. Unsuccessfully, I might add. Most players would have given up at half way.

Sincere condolences to the family, I can safely say Malcolm Alker and David Watkins are my favourite Salford Players of all time both now sadly gone. Malcolm would be great in a Rowley coached team no doubt. RIP Malcolm Alker .
