Two questions : 1) Are St Helens always this niggly and bad tempered? 2) what do pundits watch when they say things like "Liam Moore has had a great game tonight!"? 1). Yes, particularly when they are losing. 2). Insert ‘St Helen’s’ before the word ‘tonight’.

If the kid wants to play a lesser sport then fair play to him... whether he'd then be able to make the leap from that to the NRL is another matter entirely

If the kid wants to play a lesser sport then fair play to him... whether he'd then be able to make the leap from that to the NRL is another matter entirely I think his choice says everything about what he's thinking and the NRL is the very last of his ambitions if it even registered at all.
Sportsmen , of all kinds, talk the talk when it comes to testing themselves but some just never walk the walk. But I'm sure the money's nice.

Still waiting Russ.
‘Small’ questions to be asked are how much is the RFL paying to make up the difference.
If the RFL is effectively propping up one club, why aren’t they applying the same to others?
Will this money afforded to same West Yorkshire club given as a loan, grant or erm gift?
If same club can not afford the rent, then how could the RFL sanction them running an Academy when they denied that to other clubs?
And of course there is the ‘small’ issue of who greenlit this whilst he was at the RFL and where they ended up.
Questions I doubt we will readily see in this sports’ string of client journalists.

The one RL outlet that covered this was pretty skimpy on substance but at least they featured the story.
Then, of course, there is the question of how the Total forum regularly pops up with SRD financial stories and has largely ignored this one. Then again their attempts at not appearing to be what they really are would put even the present Labour Party into second place, and that takes some going.

Tony Smith & Stanley Gene gone from Hull. Watson surely available but keep away from Rowls. Can't see Watson leaving Hudds for Hull their results have been better. As for Rowley he has a home here, family so why relocate unless they treble his money. Hull is not an attractive proposition but if they throw money at a coach someone will accept.

Rowley also knows what is possible at Salford once the stadium deal is signed, he’d be daft to sip from the poisoned chalice now.

Hull is a poisoned chalice alright and they are in dire need of someone and something and if they throw money around for a coach they'll still be money available for signings. That is a worry and there's no getting round that.
They are desperate and have everything that SRD don't at present, mind you if I were a coach I wouldn't be tempted as I think their fans' culture is an example of a legend in your own underpants.

Leigh and HKR are good sides to watch and the Leopards didn't take charge when they had the chance.
