How is this also not a conflict of interest? The chairman and major backer of a Super League club should not also be director of the governing body for the sport. That would be like making the Chairman of Barclays PLC a Deputy Governor at the Bank of England and sitting on the Monetary Policy Committee

See another report today by Matthew Shaw saying people from super league had come into the club to look at the finances and player sales looked like they would happen!really is a depressing state of affairs,oh and still no new kit!my negative look on it is that we’re not releasing it yet as we needed some money to pay vx3!probably negative!

Yes Michael Carter former Chair at Wakefield Trinity being brought in to help. He has been tasked with getting us on an even keel. Something he has been used to at Wakefield although they did and we will no doubt have to sell players

I can't see player sales as likely. Player sales at this point, and we may as well throw the towel in. The playing side of things is the only positive about Salford at the moment. You take an axe to it and what are we doing in SL? The club wants to win something within five years and can only do that by sustaining progress on the pitch. Decimate the playing squad for what? Survival for another season, followed by an IMG points crash, and hello Championship.
I'm hoping this is another Shaw journalistic masterpiece where his wishful thinking and reality are not on the same page...

He wrote pretty much the same thing last week - as far as I can see this is entirely speculative on his part He seems to working on the Boris Johnson (borrowed from Josef Goebbels) principle of 'if you make something up and repeat it often enough it becomes accepted as the truth

No corporate sponsorship deals announced - do we have a front of shirt sponsor? No shirts to sell before Xmas? No Season Ticket collection event or Owners Xmas event announced which was mentioned. The clubs is in crisis off the field god knows what caveats come with the funding loan. Hope we make the start of the season.

If the RFL have brought people in to “assess” and “steady the ship” is this not a massive vote of no confidence in the current set up? It’s not great news for the CEO or COO if they do make changes. I’m just hoping it’s idle tinterweb speculation.
