Nice plug from Helen Skelton and Danika on the community fund. Yep. On the game... either Saints are the fastest team in RL history or they are offside at almost every play the ball. Their forwards are constantly walking off the mark too. Also, how did Ritson's No Try go up as a try... The linesman is looking straight at it. Clearly out of play. Great defence so far. Looking decent going forward. |

Need to get back to the composure we had earlier in the game. Two sets at the end of that half near Saints line and we came up with two errors and no points. A drop goal should have been the minimum there.
Very impressed with our defence and scramble again. And we've scored two quality tries. Hopefully we can manage our rotation without Wright who is a huge miss - looked nasty on his ankle.

Well... no composure. Costello knock on and then wtf was Williams doing? We conceded a try like that against Hudds. Absolutely shocking giving away points and momentum like that. The another shambles of a set. Worst 10 minutes of the season.

Sorry but Williams wouldn't play again, too many errors in last few games, Sironen should have been given a yellow in first 40 then he offloads for there first try, too many errors that second 40, hope Wright ain't out for too long

Terrible terrible 2nd half. Another game we should have won. Bombed 2 or 3 chances towards end of first half and then fell apart after half time

That was a terrible last 10 of the first have and an even worst second-half. We didn't score any points from field position at the end of the first half when even a drop goal would have made it 3 scores (still 12-0 at the time). We were concerning yardage all game but at least the goal line defence was good in the first 30 minutes. In comparison we had little go-forward and weren't making metres.
That second half was an absolute shambles. Zero composure. Poor in every aspect of play. We've just not enough in the second half against the best teams this year after good first half performances - Warrington, Hull KR, Wigan, and now Saints (I know Saints haven't been a 'best team' this year but they've had most of their pack missing, today they had most of it back).
I'd have been happy with a performance and small loss but today was definitely a backwards step. Hopefully we can get back to winning ways and start the building of momentum again against Hudds as we have two touch tests with both Hull teams in the league. FC have turned it around and KR have been in every game they've played.

I'd be tempted to rest them to ensure we are as fit as possible for the Hull FC game. It's a competitive league this year, barring Wakey and Cas, any one of the other ten appear capable of making the top 6. We need to be beating Hull FC and Hull KR (without Abdull, his replacement, and Coote could be out) to place ourselves in the 6 and build momentum. Lafai coming back will be a huge boost at both ends of the field. We won't win anything though without being smarter and more composed in games. We beat ourselves today. We lost to KR, Warrington, and Wigan - the top three - after also being the better team in the first half. |
