i would imagine on the 3rd when the kit is launched. They also said that the new website will be available from the 5th December.

They also said that the new website will be available from the 5th December. I hope the new website is easier to navigate than the current one. I would have done it for a fraction of the price...!

I thought the point about the video was a valid one. We're trying to appeal to a broad audience, and a video showing only middle aged men just creates the impression that we're a bit like Crown Green Bowls. We wouldn't have known that the club were aware of this and that there should have been some women in the video if the question hadn't been asked. Other relevant points from last night (all from memory, so some might not be quite right): - The club will be allocating players to schools, and getting those players to work with the schools on coaching and promotional stuff.
- They're intending to get into the city's shopping centres and Gateways.
- If there is to be a club shop, it's likely to be a pop up one somewhere.
- They'll be working with housing associations, like City West and Salix.
- Ian Blease (and Marwan!) has had some productive meetings with the RFL, looking at how the club engage with the community.
- Ian Blease will be meeting officials from Sale to see if there's anything he can learn there. He'll be attending their next home game (which I think is this Friday).
- The club won't be appointing a marketing director just yet because they can't afford one. They will, however, be using Peel Holding's marketing team.
- They will also be working with the local universities.
- New website imminent. Also looking at Red Devils TV.
- Contrary to popular belief, most of Salford's coaching ideas last season came from Ian Watson and Martin Gleeson. They would then use Tim Sheens as a sounding board.
- The new kit isn't minging.
- They're hoping to establish a reserve side made up of fringe first teamers and academy players. Initially, they would hope to play friendlies against other, more established reserve sides. The thinking behind this is that the jump from academy to SL first team is too great, and young players run the risk of getting injured. This is also why academy players are sent out into the Championship. The club are looking at making this type of arrangement with a number of Championship clubs for the coming season too.
- Russ McFarlane was in attendance. There was a rumour that he'd been released, but clearly that's not true.
- The centre position vacated by Josh Griffin will likely be filled by Niall Evalds (pronounced Ee-Valds, not Eh-Valds - who knew?) or Daniel Vidot. Both are working with Martin Gleeson.
- All the new signings were in attendance (Lee Mossop, Lama Tasi, Kris Brining. Daniel Murray). Mossop not in full training yet. Seems to be carrying a bit of a knock.
- Coaching staff happy with the squad. Smaller than last year, but with more quality.
- As mentioned elsewhere, Willie Poching joined the coaching staff over the weekend.
Probably lots of other stuff too. Ian Blease came across very well. He spoke well, was confident and seems to be right on the ball. Very impressive. If he can bring some much needed off field stability to the club, then that will be a huge step in the right direction. Impressed with Ian Watson too. All very positive. The first time in quite a while that I've come away from one of these thinking that it might actually happen.

I know this is thread is about the new kit, but it seems to have morphed into a discussion about the meeting. Was anything mentioned about the crowd trouble at Huddersfield and Hull KR and whether there might be penalties awaiting us come the start of the season?

Think it looks terribly plain myself, do really like the very short sleeves though. Really hope we have gone for a different design with the away shirt and gone for a darker colour. The video is brilliant, shows real passion from real supporters, though why are there now minorities in there? Surely they could have found someone who didn't sound like they were an extra in Shameless

They're Salford fans. Is that not minority enough for you?

Do like that the club have made the video and it seems to be attracting praise from outside the normal supporter base, if you're on Twitter you might know what I mean but the faux tension about the release and constant are you excited yet just instil huge dollops of ambivalence and feelings of being underwhelmed, personally find when people have to ask if you're excited it's because they suspect you're not.
For the hype I was expecting much more from the kit, think the club/Raging Bull would do better working on the merchandise on sale other than the replica kits.
