Rightly so.
They need to pay them. Professional musicians do it for a living. I know we're not the rivhest club in the world, but I'm sure a couple of hundred quid should be floating around for this kind of stuff...

We're not talking professional musicians here though are we? I get it that you can't just bring in quality acts for free but we're not talking Scouting for Girls or T'Pau. And we're not asking people to turn up week in, week out to provide the service.
Do we pay our cheerleaders/mascot who are at every home game?

They are asking for links to paid work, that indicates professional. And somebody who does gigs in bars and small events for £150-300 is still a professional, it's their living. Now if we were asking for karaoke singers it would be different.

No. But the mascot and cheerleaders do it outwith their own weekly lives and, forgive me if I'm wrong, our mascot isn't a professional mascot elsewhere doing it for free for us. They are asking for bands that do it for a living to do it for free. Maybe if they worded it better, like... 'Any up and coming bands who would like to show themselves off.' Something along them lines, then fair do's.

No if we were asking for karaoke singers it would be different. This is how I make my living and I found the tweet ridiculous.

Now if we were asking for karaoke singers it would be different. Unless I can’t read, pretty sure they are asking for links to previous work and not paid work. Big difference there! Bands they have had in the past were up and coming performers who wouldn’t get the opportunity to perform at an event. Nowhere are they saying you must be a professional

I meant to write past work. Anybody who is up and coming likely play gigs that are paid, it might be their main income, as somebody above said it is for them, which is why I said people who had links to past work, those with equipment and comfortable enough to play in front of a relatively large crowd would likely be a professional.
Somebody above indicated it was like we were asking for bands like Scouting For Girls or professionals for that matter, my point was that people getting paid small amounts are also professionals. I hired quite a few people for music nights. They did the gigs for £150 - £200 and did three 40 minute sets. That's not a lot of money to spend on pre-match entertainment.
It's just so terribly worded imo.
They could have asked if any up and coming artists would like the opportunity to play at the ground for exposure. In exchange for doing this as a volunteer they get to watch the game for free and from the 1873 bar and get a free meal neither of which would cost the club much but at least you are offering them something of an experience.

Because I helped him on it Ask him what happened I did and this is his response Copy this message: The stadium company was hard to deal with, never the club or board, they were big on giving up and coming artist the platform to showcase their talents, which act loved that chance. I stopped due to stepping aside from the ST and concentrating on my family

Why didn’t Paul king sort the stadium company out and pay for extra childcare for the Handle family?
