Proud of this club this season. They've been fantastic and defied the odds. You put Croft and Ackers in that side today and we get to the GF. Sensational effort to a man, a credit to the shirt. Ridiculous decision by the referee robbed us of a chance at the grandstand finish, but we might have been struggling to put a team out next week anyway. Ian, Paul, Paul, & the entire squad and coaching staff - and the tea lady - deserve the highest praise. Now I’m going back to my pint to sulk into it.

Firstly I want to congratulate Rowley and the team for their efforts today in adversity - an outstanding effort and thanks for the ride.
Now for the negative, Kendall is a **** house he had a Saints Jersey on, Knowles is a thug a dirty player trying to twist Chris Atkin's arm, that has no place in the game - Ban him, its a Red he has to sit down after that offence. Then to not give a penalty try on a blatant Professional Foul is a disgrace, Ref's like Kendall drive people away form the game. Wolf has no class its all about Saints, barely credit to Salford hence other teams dislike their club. Today made a farce of Rugby League - I will not buy my tickets for next week having watched the Refs incompetence the RFL must mandate we get integrity back in our game and accountability for Refs like Kendall.
Not the outcome we wanted but a tremendous effort in challenging circumstances I see the Salford Red Arising. To all at the club thanks for the last 12 weeks its been amazing, we build for 2023.

I don't think the reffing should be the focus. RL fans obsess over refs and I understand the points people have, but it's also part of the game. Like the bounce of a ball, or the influence of the crowd. Sometimes it goes for you and sometimes it goes against you. That's life. The fact of the matter is that Salford with two of its key players missing almost did the champs in their own yard. I think that should be the focus, and we're better fans for concentrating on the effort rather than looking for scapegoats. No team in SL could withstand the first 25 minutes from Saints, such was the pace and intensity, yet we still pulled it back and came damned close to taking the lead.
One thing that has surprised me about Saints this year is how dirtier they have become as a team. They certainly don't need it, they're good enough. Did we rattle them? Or does it show the direction Wolff has taken them in?

Well done folks, that was an epic effort :-)

It's been a fabulous ride this year. Most of us, me included, thought we would be in a relegation battle and would lose the battle. But the players stood up. Not just the star players but the players who don't get the plaudits. The forwards were immense, taking on bigger players week in, week out, and never taking a backward step. On to next year. You have done us proud.

Kendall was embarrassing when reffing abroad and they withdrew him…just not brave enough to make the right decisions, often the wrong place, doesn’t seem to understand the game, and misses or ignores too much.He effectively just let the thuggery go….never seen so many high tackles go unpunished. Early in the season he blew for everything high , now nothing. A great game ruined, in part, by an incompetent ref, sadly But a great run by the underdogs

Yeah you've already said that. So focusing on the game, I was just gutted we didn't see ackers and croft tbh. Good effort and just a shame we coincided the same try 3 times and never learnt from the first one. No one mopping up at the back. That's the first time I've watched us play saints this year and I am so surprised how much they've changed. They play a really boring % style rugby (exactly like Wigan) and if I was a Saints fan I'd be wondering where the "entertainers" tag has gone, because that's not the style of rugby I was brought up watching St Helens play. But it worked and they deserved to win. I will be wanting them to win the final as its always better if one of the 3 Lancashire sides win, even if it is the same old teams in the final again

Its the hope that gets ya! Right from the start Saints looked far improved on recent weeks, running the ball in real hard, and clearly playing aggressively/on the edge from the start. Even so, even without ackers, our defence stood firm and eventually they waned. We were on a roll, with hindsight it looks a daft call by Watkins but that’s how we play, comes off great but when it doesn’t… and then we fell asleep for the kick which killed it, but these things happen. No blame to be attributed to any player today. The effort was outstanding.
I mentioned earlier in the week when I saw we had Kendall he needed to be stronger than last time, and he wasn’t. It wasn’t every call, a lot of the “high” shots we were shouting for were fair, I thought, and at least some of the “offsides” were slow ptb from us. However, the big calls he got wrong really effected the game. We got no 50/50s either. As a whole refs are getting worse, and it was a pretty low bar, it is turning fans away.
However, without a crystal ball who knows if those decisions would have won us the game or not. Not much point dwelling on that. Without Croft and then Ackers, wow what a performance. We worked so so hard, I’m unbelievably proud to be a Salford fan. We actually look like this may not be another one off, we might actually be building something special. Feel pretty numb at the moment but also a whole lot of pride
I see the Salford Reds Arising!

Proud day for the club, supporters and everyone connected to the club. I do have to ask how Kendal gives a yellow but doesn't go to VR for a penalty try how can he not refer this? Different day with croft and ackers and that's a different result, as we found out towards the end, going round saints is the only way wish we'd tried it sooner.
Anyway it's been a phonemnal season let's enjoy the champagne rugby we've been very privileged to witness, it's been amazing!

One thing that has surprised me about Saints this year is how dirtier they have become as a team. They certainly don't need it, they're good enough. Did we rattle them? Or does it show the direction Wolff has taken them in? I think they’ve been like this for a few years. I can’t think of an RL team I’ve disliked (hated) as much as the Saints team of the past few years. Lazy journos and commentators like to say that they play “hard” but in reality it’s one great player (Roby) three decent players (Lomax, Walmsley and Welsby) and a long list of outright grubs. Thought Saints looked methodical but uninspiring today. We’d have beaten them with Croft and Ackers. On the day I think we failed to adapt to the loss of Ackers and were far too reserved for the vast majority of the game - whether due to the loss of Ackers or Croft not being out there, who knows. When we did play expansive rugby we troubled them. Kendall is passable as a run of the mill SL ref but is indicative of the poor standard of SL ref when it comes to the big moments. Seems to land in favour of Saints on a regular basis. Not convinced we’d have beaten Saints but he got the two big decisions wrong and we’d have had a much chance if he’d got them right. Kudos to the team (and club) for an incredible second half to the season. Didn’t doubt for a second that we were a better team under Rowley than the start showed but I’d have never thought we’d be into a SF. Here’s hoping this crop can stay together for 2023. We just need one horrible dirty prop and I think we can be right up there. Hope no lasting damage to Sio.

Had forgotten about Sio, hope he’s ok could see it was a bad knock the way the saints players reacted. Seeing Brierley at the end absolutely gutted in tears, I think he’s indicative of the rest of this squad. They just seen to care about Salford. Also to mention our fans, outstanding again. Even out singing saints at the end after we had lost. Didn’t see any agro, yeh lots of moaning about the ref but also a lot of very proud faces. We were driving out as Sneyd was leaving with his family and a bus full of Salford fans were singing at him.
This feels different to 2019, it felt like we belonged in these games yesterday

Just watched it back or the main points of contention.
Knowles Chicken Wing tackle was a disgrace its Red - hope he is banned he deserves to miss the final. The Penalty try Lafai was held back and it had to go to the video Ref. In truth Kendall bottled it he will get fans of all clubs calling out his bias to Saints. Sione Mata'utia also put a dirty late hit on Atkin after the ball had gone he deserves a ban. Saints are a dirty team under Woolf - not much to admire about that. Lets see if the RFL bottle it with bans.
As for Salford super proud of our team who have over achieved this year, losing our best attacking threats did not help the cause but effort was there. In reality we were within a score of the team that's won Super League for the past 3 years on another day it may have gone our way. Plenty to be appreciative of in 2022 and lots to be positive about in 2023. Well done Salford superb season and progress.
As for Gadgers point I feel this team is much more capable then that in 2019 to go on and become great.
