I think after 29 years I am finally done with the sport of RL at the professional level. I will continue to be a Salford fan but I no longer perceive myself to be a fan of the professional sport as a whole. Too many things, for too long… this is the last one for me. An utter embarrassment — one of too many. Giasf,I understand exactly the points that you have made as I have been watching Salford RLFC for over seventy five years and this season on the Red Devil’s Rugby front has been a breath of fresh air as far I am concerned and I never dreamt that only a couple of days of a cracking game of rugby, I would like I do over the sport of Rugby League. After the performance of the officials last Saturday, the referee in particular, and then the pathetic performances by the various parties over the Morgan Knowles affair I am embarrassed for RL, it’s players and it’s fans, in that the result of this diabolical piece of officialdom, which my opinion has brought the game into disrepute. If the tackle by Morgan Knowles doesn’t warrant a ban, what sort of tackle does? If any person in any job or profession made mistakes that were made last Saturday by the officials and subsequent disciplinary and MRP and the appeal committees they would no longer be in employment. My RL season has been ruined by this affair and the hierarchy responsible should be ashamed of themselves and I write obviously as a long term RL fan, Red Devil’s firstly, who has purchased several World Cup tickets and I am writing this instead of looking forward to the rugby all thanks to the ineptitude of the powers that be and their unbelievable antics.

Ref and video refs great in a high class game
And no cynical cheating or as Wolff condones Professional Fouls

Was a good game but if people think that was genuinely reffed better than most SL games then you need to take your green and gold glasses off.
Decision on 1st set was confusing, eels 1st try was from a forward pass, eels off side repeatedly defending their line, going back 2 tackles to sin bin Taumololo and eels not being given a penalty for it. And that was just the first 15 minutes. All of these would have had fans screaming ‘corrupt RFL’ if in England
People need to realise they are less concerned about things they have less emotional investment in and don’t always see things objectively if it’s something they care more about. A bit like I’ve not heard one salford fan mention Taylor’s shoulder charge (poss to the head) in the tackle that saw Ackers concussed. And not many people retract their complaints about the obstruction they all missed for Taylor’s try to be chalked off.
I’m still gutted that we lost that game but to focus on the refereeing so much does a great disservice to the efforts of our team. To come that close to beating the three (prob four) time champions with no Croft and Ackers was an incredible effort

Well RUB if you think our refs are anywhere near Oz refs I think I must be watching a different game to you mate. Even the challenges show that. But I do think one of the v strange things in video calls are that forward passes aren’t reviewed

The petition about the judiciary process is a joke really just about a load of petty anger over everything rather than a real sense of injustice over this event.
