Morgan knowles appeal was successful. Cleared to play final it’s enough to turn you away from the sport Yes it already has

Shocking, just put saints name on trophy for next few years, that was any other team apart from the big boys, would be rejected and more games added

A sport with absolutely no values…that’s it for me, why bother watching when shirt pulling, arm twisting, head tackling is condoned
Cynical, cheating Wolff and slimy McManus

I think after 29 years I am finally done with the sport of RL at the professional level. I will continue to be a Salford fan but I no longer perceive myself to be a fan of the professional sport as a whole. Too many things, for too long… this is the last one for me. An utter embarrassment — one of too many.

I’ve potentially got a 16 year old being suspended for 8 matches for throwing a punch that barely connected against a lad who kicked his team mate. The opponent got a yellow so faces no ban
But that aside. The idea that a chicken wing would only get 2 matches and then be quashed at the top level when we have junior and amateur players missing literally half a season for less serious offences is just mind blowing

I don’t post much on here but the Morgan Knowles rescinded ban is just fricking wrong . Don’t the RFL realise how stupid they look ?

The sport is bent. I see Bateman named In Knights squad. Presumably so he can not play in their two games, making him available for England World Cup squad sooner. Or am I wrong on that?

Spot on about Bateman chief. He’s over 25 but still in knights squad. Only one reason
I rarely comment on decisions about bans or refereeing decisions. Too much subjectivity built into the process means the decisions appear random whether they are or not.
Not the RFL who’ve made this decision, it’s an independent appeals panel which includes a judge. Lots of reasons I could understand for overturning the ban. Doubt I’d agree but I’d accept that there are other points of view. But I can’t understand how anyone can argue that Atkin’s arm was not moved out of a normal range of movement
One player holding his neck so he couldn’t flex his shoulder to follow the pull on his arm. no blame on Roby, you see players held like that getting up from a tackle dozens of times a game. What I can’t remember ever seeing is someone’s arm being pulled in that way while they were unable to move to compensate for the arm pull. Whether Knowles meant it or not, it’s a textbook chicken wing tackle which attracts a ban
The appeals panel has potentially just legalised chicken wing tackles in its decision making. That has serious implications for player welfare

Interestingly a judge can decide if a joint is moved out of its normal range of movement, and not a doctor
Any further movement amend the arm would have been out of the socket or a broken shoulder.
I wonder what’s ruining the game McManus…its YOU & A COUPLE LIKE YOU MATE

That has serious implications for player welfare Great point, but to me it's also not so much original decision or appeal, as you say subjective. It's the appeal of an appeal, how many are there, and how long can you go on for. But also like Bateman, are some rules being bent to suit certain Tournaments/Finals. To say some players or clubs start of slippery slope

After the decision to lift Knowles ban last night I am beyond disgusted. The fact that on Saturday we were shafted by the Ref was bad enough, but to then acknowledge it is ok to try and break our players arm takes the piss out of our club, our players and their welfare and the paying fans. This proves beyond any doubt that the RFL are bias towards McManus and his team from the little town just outside Liverpool.
I cannot condone this disgraceful behaviour by the RFL thus will boycott the Grand Final and World Cup. The sport is a shambles, god knows what Blease/King/Rowley must think.
The RFL have broken the game of Rugby League. Hit them where it hurts in the pocket.

Harold Shipman
If the St Helens lawyers who have reprieved Morgan Knowles were around when Shipman was alive he would still be alive today.

An utter embarrassment — one of too many. Up until now I considered myself an RL fan, and now after watching SRD since they signed Jackie Brennan I don't care if RL dies tomorrow. I couldn't agree with you more about SRD but the GF (unless Salford are in it) and the WC can "Go to Buxton!" as my gran used to say.
Take care everyone!

Russ,I started watching about the same time, but I can't get my head round your sentiments about the game. Rugby League is still the best game going, yes and the decision as regards the player in question was surely made by is mother or someone being looked after by people in white coats As regards referee kendal we were never going to get a decision out of him as he proved in the grand final What I will say in my opinion if the game does die it will be referee's like him that kill it So have a pint of black and tan and get ready for next season Regards David

I always look at the ref we have and know which ones we've no chance with on the whole. I will not support the wider game anymore I'll just give my hard earned to SRD when and where I can. There are tons of positives about the Red Devils right now, stadium apart, and I'm dead made up about the season, Brody, Sneyd etc etc etc but I won't support RL as a game they can all go and do one as far I'm concerned. Thanks for your message though really appreciate it and see you next season but only at home for me.
All the best
Russ
