Thought we controlled large parts of the game , especially start of the second half but knock on from the scrum twice in Leeds 20 killed us along with the interception for Handley. Don’t like hammering ref’s BUT thought Thaler had a major influence in the game , missing a blatant trip on Cross by Myler who even held his hand up in apology was a massive miss We had a big opportunity to win today even after giving them an 18 point lead but our momentum went with that interception, Thaler seemed quick off the mark to penalise us , did anyone see the 6 again call in front of our posts when the tackle hadn’t even been made yet !! Fair points but we did not have a forward pack dominant to play off again stupid team selection IMO. 100% agree , having what is in effect 2 backs on the bench seems strange , especially with Livett and Burke warming up Luckley will miss next week too with the protocol too

I would rather that we play the way we do and beat the like of Saints, even if we lose a game which we should have won. I would rather win next week than this week. Still in with a chance of the top 6. Is that the trade off with Paul I would us sooner play the way do like last week we are trying to entertain some of the tripe served up now for Rugby League In this country is turning people away.I am prepared to be shot Dow I agree with you wanting SRD to play like that, dont agree about the "tripe" business & why would you get shot down it's just an opinion.

To win 'ugly' is almost as good as winning playing 'champagne', (2 league points are given for winning ugly or champagne) On today's showing, it seems we only play 'champagne' and if that doesn't work, we can't turn 'ugly' to help us out for a period. A 26-18 win today was possible at one point if we had 'corked' the champagne rugby for a while by playing ugly and being more patient. It would have been a real step forward in terms of intelligent game management,if we had won ugly today.
So bring on the 'Kings of Ugly' next weekend, I'd love to beat em and wouldn't mind at all if was 8-0 to us and 38-18 say, only a scoreline that is 'nice to have', butwhat we really need are the 2 points

Well not for the first time this season I disagree with Maurice. We are what we are - `the entertainers`. We do not do 5 drives and a kick. We don`t do the grind. We don`t try and go through the Oppo we go ROUND them where gaps are aplenty. I understand the Brierley selection but expected Sarge to return maybe in the second row or out wide as an extra centre. Wright & Taylor are traditional Drivers and the former for me is a waste of Space and Money. Sita too brings nothing to the party as today he `played` maybe 12 minutes with 3 drives. Total waste.
We lost today after 10 minutes when we were 18-0 down. We then had 2 tries disallowed and as Andy suggests how the trip was missed was beyond me. Unsure whether Myler or Sezer but the guys at HO will surely give a ban.
I am still confident we will make the 6 and if we play Leeds again I think we will do them. Next Saturday sees us play a Grinding team - I just hope we go round them with pace.

Russ like you so eloquently put it it's an opinion, that's, why I said in my opinion a lot of tripe played. The majority of teams in Super League are still playing 5 drives and a kick.I am glad we have a coach with a different outlook.Even the Australians have moved on to a more expansive game, maybe we have the right approach but lack a bit of quality to carry it out every week, and I don't mean any disrespect to any of the boys.I remember a cup tie against Featherstone Rovers in the seventies they beat us by a couple of points that was on the Sunday we played them in the League on the next Friday night near enough the same players and beat them by 40 points they said we couldn't play cup rugby, but that's the way we played

My position on yesterday is simple, we have another forward available we win the game - grind then go into Rowleyball because when it does not click teams can take us apart. No Super League coach in their right mind would play Sarge as 2nd row cover, not playing Lannon or Burke was crazy IMO. Again the best teams Saints/Wigan consistently have four props available in the 17, they do this for a reason.

We continually for some reason give clubs a start; 18 point start put too much pressure on the team.
I’m sure Rowley will sort.

Couldn’t get there yesterday but we do tend to start games slowly for some reason. Catalans st home we went behind but played brilliantly from minute 10. Saints was 50/50 with both teams making breaks and dropping the hall but once we got ahead we were awesome. Even Wakey scored first against us. If we’re within 10 points after first 10-15 minutes I fancy our chances but 18 is a lot to claw back. Shame about the late points yesterday as it has given Leeds a better points difference than us

That trip is inexcusable. Croft was through there without it. No question it should have been a red card. Will be astonished if he isn’t banned.

3 Leeds players banned inc Sezer, 2 matches for trip.
Don’t think Thaler sin binned any of the three. He wasn’t at his best when he reffed down here recently. Perhaps he’s sadly reached the end of the road. BUT once again, why didn’t the touch judge intervene…lots more work needed on touch judges; reffing is after all a team of 3
