Interesting although based on the email Russ shared I'd say that the Council certainly intend to consider selling the stadium if it is going to Cabinet for consideration of Bids. Hope all the petition signing, sharing and writing to the MP's counts for something - all this activity is still valid though as this business is likely to go on into the off season. The more support we have behind the club the better, we want a community stadium for Salford.

I have had nothing back off my MP Barbara Keeley will chase her office up, this looks like the wheels are in motion on the possible stadium sale, it will certainly be considered by the council following bids. I got a v positive response off Barbara Keely and I’m following it up. If you look at the Salford Council Cabinet on the Council web site we need to lobby our individual councillors

Agree JJR, I will follow up also. Did your MP feedback in similar fashion to the reply Russ got?

She mentioned that she contacted the City powers and was looking at benefits to the City from the use of the Stadium.
Interesting that RLB mentioned King and Moor Lane; hope the Club aren’t pushing that at the moment.

Interesting that RLB mentioned King and Moor Lane; hope the Club aren’t pushing that at the moment. This is my opinion - I do not think that the club are pushing Moor Lane, the vote happened when the move to Moor Lane seemed inevitable and the only option. When I have briefly asked Paul King in passing the answer was that this business is with the council - the club cannot impact any of the submitted bids moreover get behind Gerrard which it seems Blease does via twitter. As fans we just need to push the agenda with the Councillors and MP's and back Gerrard. We all know Moor Lane turns our Club into a Swinton, there is very limited scope for growth hence wanting to stay at our current ground.

I fail to understand why the Community Club can’t support a bid to keep the Stadium in the community.

I fail to understand why the Community Club can’t support a bid to keep the Stadium in the community. How do you know they haven't? The 'community club' can't contribute financially to any bid which it seems is the main driver for the disposal. All they can do is engage with the purchaser if they have any interest in the club assuming Sale/SCFC arent successful.

All we can do is voice support/lobby as fans.

The Agenda is usually split in 2 - a Public Part and a Private Part - the public session is usually open to all but certain items - such as the disposal of the stadium would be classed as a private item and the the public would be excluded from the meeting as it would contain ' Information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information).'

Has anyone else had a response for their MP on this or the council? My reply from the Mayors office; Thankyou for taking the time to write regarding Salford Reds and their future.
The City Mayors office have asked that I respond to your email on behalf of the City Mayor.
The petition you refer to has been running for some time and was considered by Cabinet in July 2021 when just over 7800 people had added their signatures.
You will be aware from the supporter engagement sessions that the Reds have held that the Council have been working closely with the Reds to try to find a satisfactory outcome re their future. This recognises the financial challenges that exist at the AJBell along with the history of the club and all the benefits that the Reds and their associated activities, as you have outlined, bring to the City.
These discussions are ongoing and we recognise the likely investment needs, to meet RFL requirements, if Moor Lane is ultimately the direction of travel in terms of a solution.
We hope to make an announcement on the way forward in the near future but as above the Reds will be fully involved with that decision.
