Maurice I admire your energy and commitment. Yes sadly we seem to be in continual survival mode which the Club are good at. But it’s all about raising cash, not £4m handouts from the Council and the Club can’t do it. What I don’t understand that if the Council are throwing around £8M why not put it into the Stadium rather than in a place with no future. I note that since Gerrard came on board with a bid that the Club have had a preference poll Re Gerard and the 2nd Bid option - I have not seen the Club running a 2nd preference poll regarding grounds since Gerrard got involved. In no way can the prior fans poll to move to Moor Lane (From 9 months ago) on the premise it was the only option be seen as a mandate for the club to accept our fans want to move to Moor Lane, this is inaccurate and needs communicating to the council. I support the Gerrard bid on the basis it is a better option then rolling over to the Sale/FC bid which condemns the club to Moor Lane. Our Clubs petition supports this view, for me its get behind the Gerrard bid - I appreciate it is now in the Councils hands. It is a shame this issue challenges the club when this squad have performed wonders this season, as fans we are passionate about where our team plays and that has to be the AJ Bell Stadium.

The way I see it is this, two parties want shut of the AJB Their must be a price unless it is a bidding war.So if it is a set price or bidding war and Gerrard wins its know business of peel or the council if he grows apples on it.

Last post from me on this for a while - I'm going to enjoy the ride of the next 10 days and see where we get too??
I have followed up with the council this morning regarding prior communications and updates - nothing back to date, if anyone gets any communications back then please update us.
One thing I do not understand is the lack of voice from the Club and Supporters Trust during the last 3-4 months. When the Moor Lane ground switch kicked off the messaging opposing a move was clear in late 2021. Fast forward to 2022 and Seb Gerrard coming forth and the support is limited bar Ian Blease on Twitter - not sure why this is perhaps your right Dixon 13, it is a bidding war for the stadium and the Club is resigned to the outcome. Maybe they will share news at tonight's player awards?
Credit to everyone who has pushed the agenda to stay at the AJ Bell - enjoy the next few weeks of Rugby League.

I have had a basic update back from SCC 'Please be assured Council officers are working with all parties involved in the Stadium to try to find the best outcome for the residents of Salford and all parties involved'. One assumes there is ongoing dialogue with all those entities involved in this matter which I assume includes Salford RLFC.

I got another mail back from the council (different councillor) stating it is a complex situation and the future of the stadium is still to be decided. Lets see if the AJ Bell's future goes to council cabinet on 13th Sept as and when the Agenda is released in the next few days. sccdemocracy.salford.gov.uk/mgCommitteeDetails.aspx?ID=133

Seb Gerrard just tweeted:
‘Hello my fellow Salfordians! Apologies for the lack of updates but for now no news is good news. Everyone is working hard to get this done. A big thank you to all. Your support is both a great help and appreciated. To the doubter’s. Run.’

Your support is both a great help and appreciated. To the doubter’s. I am from Salford, the stadium needs to be for our City.

Lets hope the Gerrard bid prevails and the club can stay at the AJ Bell.

Quick one on this the decision is now with Salford City Council on the future of the stadium and respective Bids, a decision will be made shortly, no doubt the Queens passing has delayed any outcomes here. It it likely we will remain at the AJ Bell possibly into the 2024 season.
Here is hoping that we do not lose our current Stadium to a Rugby Union team from outside the City and a small football club that struggles to get 2,000 fans. Our gates are up 20% this year and the community work our club is delivering is reaping rewards - our Club needs a stadium like the AJ Bell, lets hope the council can do the right thing.

This is so important, we’re a team well and truly on the up. We’ve been to 4 semi finals in 6 years, getting to 2 finals. One of the most consistent teams in the competition, on the lowest budget.
I truly believe we’ll see a real uptick in attendance next season, people can see the way we are going. It feels like the public are getting on board. We need this stadium. We can’t go to moor lane, we’re too good for that, this team deserve better.

Absolutely correct G
With the new consultancy co now developing rugby league, we’re in the Championship with the facilities, or lack of them, at ML in a couple of years. Leigh Widnes, York, and many other Championship teams have far better stadia. We have to become ambitious and get away from this ‘wo is me’ survival attitude.
So decision time for the Council and the Club, a Superleague Stadium or a Chsmpionship ground. Still no big push from the Clubto support Gerrard.. And as a ratepayer I totally object to £8 going to prop up the ML deal if that’s correct.
Rowley, his coaches, Blease and the players deserve the best.
