Thought I'd create this match thread as we didn't have one. Utterly professional performance from the lads, our set completion in the first half was superb, really put them on the back foot. Defence was superb and our forwards carried the ball well - Dupree looks like a real find. Thought croft was sensational as well as ackers and sio, still not sure about Addy. On to cas and kr who are in free fall, I see the Salford reds arising....

The news coverage is all about Leeds much the same as it is when Wigan are having problems. I think there is something wrong when a sport becomes obsessive about top clubs when they're doing badly.
Cas should prove a difficult game no matter what and HKR can't keep declining surely?
Good win by TO today and not a surprise Ashall-Bott was on the score sheet.
I realise they're unlikely to change the rules for Toulouse but I do wonder if they might have a change of heart if Leeds stay in the relegation danger?

What sort of reception did Myler receive today?

Very big win, and 2 from 2 against Leeds, myler won't wanna come back to Salford anytime soon, the fans gave him some stick

Re Myler think the Salford fans were very team Helen. As for the performance it was a decent effort, we lost Luckley in the warm up meaning we had two forwards on the bench plus Borouh and Escare. Thought King and Olmondroyd put massive shifts in. Dupree looks good and Livett showed his class, for me Addy is a 13 not effective at Prop or 2nd row. Croft was the star man, he just needs support he was a different class on the pitch, Austin is stealing a living for Leeds. The backline worked tirelessly against a much bigger pack, we need more forwards on the bench for Friday but the desire and effort today was outstanding from 1-17, well done lads.

I would like to thank Paul Rowley for coaching some enterprising RL from the Devils.
Some superb attacking moments and the defence wasn`t too bad either.
Big raps for Kallum, King, Brodie, the Pocket atom at Hooker, and ET.
Addy seems to have lost weight & is quicker than he has been.
Well done everyone involved.

The entire team were terrific today, Can’t single anyone out they all did their job superbly well, Ref was okay except he missed about 20 Leeds forward passes, the only downside, Watson was there eyeing up who Huddersfield are going to tap up for next season.

A good all round performance yesterday. Only ever looked like one winner in the game. Croft was the standout (not least when he came running from nowhere with the bandage flapping from his head to close down a break) but everyone put in a big shift. Standout point for me was at half time as King V went to the touchline and patted each of the thirteen coming off the field. Shows a real team bond that a smaller club like ours needs.

Great win yesterday and TBH bar Burgess' shocking pass that led to their first try and a bit of late fatigue I thought Leeds barely looked like scoring, despite Child doing his best by giving them numerous repeat sets (anyone know the penalty count?).
I think the scoreline flattered Leeds TBH and if we'd had more field position 2nd half I'd have fancied us to score another 2 or 3 tries. Leeds fans complaining about their lack of forwards but out of their backline/halves I'd probably only take Newman. Their recruitment is dreadful and you'd expect more from a squad that must be somewhere near to full cap.
Big mention to Watkins & Cross for keeping Leeds out just before HT. How Deon stopped Rhyse Martin from barely a yard out I'll never know but it was one hell of a tackle!

I thought we were excellent yesterday. The shoreline definitely flattered Leeds. I know Leeds aren’t the team they used to be but it’s still always good to get a win against them
Hopefully after our very strong performances at Wigan and saints, and this one yesterday we have turned the corner and will start climbing the table🤞

Dupree looked a long way from fitness required at SL but that’s no surprise given he’s not played that level before. He did little wrong and plenty to suggest he’ll go well when he gets got enough. Still think it’s an odd decision to swap a player of Johnson’s calibre for a gamble mid season but could well be the right call in the long term.
Great to see Ormondroyd play so well on Sunday and Watkins has been a revelation at second row. Thought he was good in the centre last year but he’s been outstanding in the pack. in attack and defence. If him and Livett can stay fit they add a lot of strike power for us

Totally agree about Ormondroyd and Watkins. Having seen Johnson up close,it’s a real shame he isn’t bigger. Heart like a lion ,and a decent squad player, but these days you need 17-30 in the squad to make a difference and,for me,he didn’t. His career speaks for itself, fringe Superleague but a force in the Championship. I intend no slight on him
