Watched a few of the RU European matches and surprisingly some are good. Ulster v Toulouse top class. Sale not in the same. class
The reffing is, however, in a different league to ours. The on field ref makes the decision with the help of the video ref, not the other way round
Theyve learnt off us, now it’s our turn to up the ante and learn off them. If not the game will just wither away with the reffing standard we’ve got.it’s the same in the NRL, why don’t we learn or just copy?

I watch quite a bit of Union below the premiership and let's say the refereeing is average at best.I was at the Fylde Hull game yesterday and what the fef was being called I thought I was at a League game.Their was a five yard scrum set it took 12 minutes then he gave a penalty try it was if for that time the crowd didn't matter know they aren't any better than league fefs just good and bad. |

Dixon, I agree about Union refs at club level. Somehow though,knowing they’re crap as well,doesn’t make me feel any better.
Let’s reflect again after tomorrow’s game and if Child is ok I promise to say so

Dixon I’m talking about SL equivalent in RU, not lower League RU.
We have th3 same facility and never use it, sadly. Effectively in RU, you have a ref, two linesmen and the video ref all watching every play and all working together to get the right result. It amazes me how we can watch a match, see obvious errors, also seen by the video ref and nothing happens…..stupidity.
We owe it to th3 Clubs, the Players and the Crowds to use all the resources available to get the right answer and we let down all 3, all the time.
Jack Smith last Thursday was a disgrace, sadly and I think we’ve had him 4x this season. Thaler, where are you? Without doubt SLs best ref.

Just watching NRL, Hastings playing. Ref misses something , Video Ref advises him, Ref changes decision and gets it right. How easy is that?
And, of course, at 20-20, in the last seconds, Hastings kicks a 30 yard drop goal
