Holmes out but Ashton in, as well
Think I’ll go but we need to start with a good 20 min unlike against KR, Wigan and Wakey. Against Wigan thought we played well but their tackling, albeit a bit offside at time, was immense. Hope you’ve improved our defence Rowley.

I won’t be going unfortunately. I bet we play Warrington back into form. Couldn’t take too many injuries before Mondays game

We will do well to get anything out of this game tonight as poor as Wire have been our defence has been woeful, a couple of the tries leaked at Wakey were dire. Really surprised Brierley is playing tonight as his defence was nowhere near good enough - thought Escare may have been given a shot. In Super League we seem to be obsessed with playing ex half backs as 1 or a pivot. For me the best full backs in our competition are specialist full backs such as Evalds, Hardaker, Tompkins, field, etc. In the NRL full back is a free rover role at its best with Tedesco, Papenhuizen, etc tearing it up. They look to a forward usually a 13 to act as an additional pivot. Anyhow here is hoping for some steel in defence tonight.

FYI, Evalds was a stand off when he was in our academy/reserves, Tomkins came through as a stand off and only moved to full back in his 4th full season. Hardaker was originally a centre and Jai Field only moved to full back when he moved to Wigan. A full back's job is to link in attack, having a ball playing full back makes this a lot easier, hence moving halves moving to full back. Their main job in defence is to organise numbers, sending retreating defenders where they need to be. In an ideal world, a full back should be making 0 tackles a game as the only time they're needed to defend is when the line has already been broken. More often than not, by the time the attacker gets to the full back, there are players in support making the defenders job infinitely more difficult.

Where the likes of Evalds, Sammy or Hardaker started playing is not the point of my comment, they became outstanding specialist fullbacks over their careers. They can all attack seamlessly and can defend and organise their teams. At this point we're missing a massive trick with our defence and organisation especially our last man, hope this improves tonight.

Disastrous start, gotta hope again this season Toulouse keep losing, otherwise we are gone, are we going in the right direction under Rowley or are we same as last season

Way better than last season. Some big injuries, and some clear weaknesses in the team but a lot of what they are doing is good. I wouldn’t write this game off yet either.

Thing is they never seem to right the wrongs in the following games, they do same again, as has been said on other threads, I don't think our pack is big enough and good enough, we don't have players running onto a ball either, stand still

Not looking good now. Toulouse will win some at home (including against us). I can’t see where our next win will come from.
