Escaré is better at defence than Brierley but neither of them can tackle.
The difference is when Brierley joins the attacking line he can be devastating.
I think a decision has been reached between the two so it’s unlikely to change anytime soon

We have a defensive fb problem, especially now Sarge is out for the season.Defensively neither Escare or Brierley are really SL standard, Costello who played at fb in the Saints team isn’t rated so who would go there? Cross, Williams, Watkins…Agree Brierley good going forward and in fact made th3 top 50 best players last year…perhaps I’m old fashioned but I want to start with a fb who can defend…it’s not just his tackling, it to me is positioning, making sure he gets to the ball in the dead ball area first etc. he’s not been brought up bring a fb, so let’s hope Rowley can develop him as he’s developed his attacking side.

I've always been one of those people who prefer attacking FB's over defensive ones. Ideally they'd be both, but if I have to choose it would be an attacker. If a team relies on its FB to be a stellar defender then something is going wrong defensively with the rest of the team. Much better to have a more dynamic FB going forward who adds another dimension to attack. Just my thoughts on the whole FB thing. I think Brierley is doing a decent enough job, and he'd be the first to tell you he's constantly learning.
Far from perfect, but I think we're going in the right direction, just need to try and up some consistency. We're doing way better than when Marshall was wandering around the place...

Agree re direction of team C, think Rowley doing a good job. Work in progress, certainly.,Just think we’re shipping too many points with poor defence and not improving. Scoring 5 tries and losing, not good, and Brierley only 4 tackles and 3 misses.
Hope it gets sorted tho and I’m proved wrong.
