Luckely or Burke at prop and Lafai into the second row for me. ‘Middles’ were weak tackling at Wigan and the half backs have to link with the pack to cause more go forward esp near the line. All the fancy stuff in mid field good but it’s in the 25/22 where it matters. Brierley was better at Wigan but if Sarge fit I’d put him in at fb ( probably just for one match😉)
Pack Burke Ackers Ormondroyd Lafai Lannon Taylor Subs King, Gerrard, Wells/Atkins Luckely
At Wigan it was a dour cup game and we weren’t that far off. Wigan just tackled and covered better. A poor middles 1st try, a non 2nd try and a stupid defensive lapse 3rd try. We were too fancy mid field, too many errors and not good enough near the line. But encouraging.

But encouraging. I think the way that Rowley has us playing. This unpredictable attacking style is game breaking when the passes stick, and the bounce of the ball goes in our favour. But equally, when it doesn't we really need a plan B rather than turning ball over constantly. I suppose it's the nature of the beast. Chancing your arm will win you games you probably weren't expecting, but can lose you games you should really be winning.

As that wise old owl Murph used to say; you play the rugby in their half and preferably in their 25 At Wigan it did seem like a bit of headless chicken stuff with no apparent leader.

I suppose it’s one of balance and Wigans dour tacklers scored more than our flamboyant globetrotters and we were found out
But never boring🤣

Don’t weaken one position to solve another problem. Leave Lafai where he is

I’d agree generally but our best 3 second rowers are missing. Not sure who would go there. Pack had no teeth at Wigan and no good having top class backs without the ball.
Interesting conundrum.

Wakey will be in confident mood aswell, having beaten wire past couple of weeks, hopefully players who come in give us that go forward and bust a few tackles

Don’t weaken one position to solve another problem. Leave Lafai where he is Been one of our most consistent performers at centre. That is his position.

Is Taylor a wide 2nd row at 33?

Akauola has missed the last two games. Is he injured? Could he play second row?

I was told he has played on the wing. I can’t make him out, seems not to get involved

Akauola has missed the last two games. Is he injured? Could he play second row? I would give him a shot at 2nd Row Sita A, our second row running has not been great so far this year so nothing to lose, also he adds size. I would go with him and Lannon with Taylor at 13.
