Knew Dave from 1988 when I went to train with Bolton RLFC - he was the chair of the club, trained with us and played the odd game. Top bloke - loved Rugby League and cricket, hated Union and had no time for football. He was well liked by all, enjoyed a beer or several and loved walking.
Bit of a sad time as we have recently lost Des Drummond who coached us in the early 1990s.
