Massive, massive, massive game this. 2 wins from 4 is probably where I thought we'd be after 4 rounds but it's the manner of the last 2 defeats that gives me concern, especially after such a positive start. Big response needed tonight before we play what we all know will be a resurgent Leeds next week. Its a must win 4 pointer, simple as. Correct this is a must win, the attitude the team show is everything tonight - you can guarantee after last week KR will come out with a point to prove. We need to start fast and complete our sets, defend well.

Evenly matched contest for me. No idea which Salford team turns up tonight but I'm hoping it's an improvement on last weekend's performance. In all fairness it couldn't get much worse...!
I usually find that the atmosphere in better and louder when it comes to Friday night games so hopefully that gives us a slight advantage. Fingers and toes firmly crossed.

Too many costly errors, think some changes to personnel next week needs to happen, freshen things up

Right here goes left before the hooter because that was an absolute shambles, first half was completely unacceptable against a team that are poor. No intensity in defence gave Abdul masses of time to kick, no domination in defence or attack, our tackling from marker is non existent. Time to change it up, try something different! Glad Lewis had a quiet night for them.
Main problem for me; Brierley at full back does not cut it, not involved in attack, does not run the ball in and made at least two mistakes gifting KR tries in defence. Any coach worth their salt for me would drop him next week. Bring Burgess to fullback - he is consistent, his pass to Sio was the most effective all night and we made yards, he can catch and defend, plus make decent metres. Bring Williams back on the wing, he is super consistent.
In addition get Wells and Johnson back in the match day squad change it up, plus Bourouh at 9, Ackers is not a 80 mins hooker.
If we play like that against Leeds we will get hammered. No excuse for that tonight, time to change the team, screw the structure it ain't working.

A few weeks Rowley described Brierley as one of the best fullbacks around. He may want to reconsider.

1st half nowhere near good enough 2nd half better. didn’t deserve the win, could have nicked it if Sneyd hadn’t had such a ‘mare

Some of the interchanges really baffled me. Took Lannon off a few minutes after he came back on from his sinbinning. Ormondroyd must have been on the pitch for 15 mins before being switched.
I would try to swap over Escare for Kheirallah as he is at least a good all round fullback. Wells, Atkin, Williams should all be given a run out.
Brierley needs taking out the firing line as currently his confidence must be shot to pieces.

Sadly the tackling technique and set for play the ball is at best Championdhip standard. Watch KR on the replay or better still any NRL team. Hopeless
I also never thought I’d say it butSarge or even Costello or maybe Escare at full back; Brierley is like a rabbit in the headlights, frightened and doesn’t know how to play at full back. Another dire show from him
The ref was the only person on the field who matched Brierley for incompetence.

I want Brierley to do well for us, what with him being a Salford fan, but I think it’s already showing that he’s not up to SL standard. It’s got to be Burgess at FB for me next week. Leeds will have an absolute field day with Brierley

For the record Escaré had a good game for Wakey tonight, took everything that came his way in tough conditions and looked lively on attack. Really not sure what your coach see’s in Brierley, Morgan is much the better fullback in my opinion.

Not really getting the Brierley bashing. Abdul’s kicking game was excellent as was the kick chase. He was under massive pressure with every kick and took all bar one or two I think? Our attack isn’t firing because our pack is so badly beaten so there’s little room for the halves and full back to do much. Rowley’s teams will always go sidewards cos that’s his style but you can’t do it effectively until you have driven the other team back.
Our goal line defence was pretty good tonight. We just spent far too long there so were always going to concede.
Escare was playing Toulouse. Possibly the worst team to have played in SL. Brierley was playing last years SL semi finalists

Well for me the Jury is out but Brierley`s confidence is shot. One thing re Ryan`s catching. He meets the ball full on when the Up & Under id produced rather than swivelling when the ball enters his hands. Basics for full backs.
