I must say, Channel 4 are putting to shame Sky sports efforts in promotion and professionalism...

Sky last night ‘Salfords big pack seems to be beating Castleford; Ian Blease and Ian Watson putting a good strong team together’ I think I heard it correctly…Connor😂. And J Jones Buchanan, nice guy but needs a translator.

Thought the presentation and the match were excellent today. Thought Sam Tomkins and Kyle Amor were particularly good
Sky get lots of things right in their coverage. It’s great that there is now RL on free to air channel too. Win win

Agree with all the above, excellent production and presentation today, really enjoyed it. It’s fine to enjoy both C4 and Sky, certainly some of today felt a little more professional than certain parts of sky coverage but by and large those employed by sky also do a great job. It’s just brilliant to have the sport given such great exposure
Feels like the sport as a whole is moving in the right direction at the moment

You cannot be a real Rugby League fan ... not moaning. Improve on the misery level or we'll ban you to West Wales.

What bugs me about Sky is that C4 can come in with about six months notice and knock-up first rate promo, a competent and knowledgeable set of commentators that don't sound like Fred Dibnah, hosted by a household name who is RL mad. Sky have basically done nothing of note in over a decade, content to lump us with biased outdated slop. Hope it kicks them up the jacksie to do a little more, but I doubt it.

Listening to Wilkin and O’Connor during the Sky game was embarrassing by comparison. Sky can probably correctly point of out that the game itself has done a lot to contribute towards the stagnation of its product but there’s a lot that is within their control that they get wrong. Brian Carney and Jenna Brooks the only two regulars worth keeping (and maybe McDermott once in a while).

I’d keep wells too, Baz and tez are good lads but not great commenters, I think there is a role there for them but not sure it’s that. Shame we don’t still have boots n all! Same with JJB, top class bloke does a lot for the game and the community but not sure about him doing the interviews.
I don’t buy in to all the sky kicking though (not saying it has been on here, but on social media…), but it could definitely be improved. Let’s hope it is!

I think what bugs me about Sky is that they are dripping in money and ability, but just see RL as a 'filler' sport between its Premier League and F1, and I suppose looking from a brutally honest business perspective that's probably all we deserve. They prop-up our game with their money but don't seem to want to invest into the sport beyond tying-up the rights. Super league could have grown steadily over the last decade if Sky would have even done the bare minimum in promotion and presentation of its own investment. The catch-22 for RL in the northern hemisphere is that it needs Sky money, but it effectively hides the sport behind an ever increasing paywall in an age where people are leaving Sky in favour of newer business models. C4 could be a very positive thing for the sport. Just look at the viewing figures. It's no wonder C4 are incredibly pleased with their efforts, and it was those efforts that reaped the reward. Hopefully, the selling-off from Sky of chunks of the season will continue, and I just hope that when TV rights come around next, consistently high viewing figures generated by C4 will make other broadcasters come sniffing around for a piece of the pie or at least strengthen the financial value of the sport as a whole.

Yes totally agree with this, I guess my “defence” maybe of Sky is more about some taking shots at the individuals who present the show. Totally agree we don’t get the exposure we deserve. Hopefully that will change

Big numbers again for Ch 4 and was the most watched programme for the 16-34 sector. So it just wasn’t grumpy old sods watching it
We’ll done Ch 4. Heard an interview with the Oz presenter; impressive guy

Adam Hills is great, funny, good presenter, loves his RL. I’m sure most know but he’s heavily involved in PDRL, plays for Warrington
He’s said he’s going to get as many of celeb mates in to the sport as he can, he’s always plugging on The Last Leg. It’s a really positive start to C4 coverage
