Those of us who have expressed concern over the size of our pack,will feel vindicated after watching the monsters of Catalans and Saints.Roll on the fast grounds.

Tonight put a great deal in perspective.
Saints are on a different level.
Dragons disappointed but are a good side with class players.
Our season won’t be defined by those 2 teams,though.
Our best means of defence will be to score tries ,thus reducing the exhausting task of tackling these buggers.

Catalan continuing with the aggression, called thuggery at times. Even Dudson seems to have been on the Steak Tatare. Be interesting to see how strong the reffing is this year.

It’s a nice theory BR that we go out and run in stacks of tries and that will stem the opposition forwards. Have you experienced our game first hand? It doesn’t work that way. |

H totally understand what your saying but went to Hull just before lockdown and their massive pack battered us for half an hour and then we ran the ball and won easily. I’m sure somebody will have the stats
Back to the great Murphy, as he said keep,the ball in their 25 and run th3 big pack for half an hour. Not quite as fit in those days but it worked
Be interesting to see how w3 cope, but we can only play to our strengths and from 1-7, when get everyone fit and not suspended we’re quite good. And GAMEDAY, so we’ll see where we’re up to

There's no doubt that both Saints and Catalans are going to be challenging again this season - their packs are enormous. However, I did think at times that neither team applied any 'controlled' aggression - it was more a case of ill discipline and I was surprised that no-one ended up being seriously hurt. Discipline was a major problem for Salford last season but hopefully Rowley and his backroom staff have been able to coach that out of them during the offseason. Looking forward to tonight's game. It's going to be bloody freezing but well worth it. |
