Maybe when Sale and Salford City start to train at the AJB they will have sorted it out, they will be the owners.

Sale will destroy it with all their scrummaging practice etc. Can see another pitch potentially being laid next to the ground and each team having their own training facilities. Does anyone know if we use the 4g pitch at all? I've never seen the lads training on it but it must be a decent back up option with the training pitch being out of action.

So I have to admit that I was in the Moor Lane Camp until I discussed this with a fellow Salford fan.
So the Tolouse game was a good pointer to one of the big issues outside of parking, star of repair, standard of ground, lack of corporate facilities at Moor Lane.We had 4000 for the Tolouse game in terrible weather,no away fans, likely a bottom of the table team.Moor Lane's capacity is 5108.So what happens if we get top 4 on a regular basis. Our average crowd has always been swollen by large travelling support from the big clubs. The locals will heavily oppose any expansion of the ground and we have no money. Then bigger crowds need more parking and so it goes on.
The obvious solution is Gigg Lane.Set up for larger crowds, bigger capacity, parking.Just bought by the Bury football Trust. They would welcome the income and we could potentially have much more input than at the AJ Bell. The local area has much better pub,etc facilities.Geographically not that much further away from the AJ Bell than Moor Lane. Biggest drawback is outside Salford.

Paul King has already said he would facilitate a move but then he would be gone! The club are in consultation with the council Re parking are they not? as for Hospitality etc, whilst Moor Lane does not have it at the levels of the AJ Bell there is Hospitality there.

Sale wont be training at the AJ Bell, they have there own training facility in Carrington which from memory was the old Man City facility before they moved to the Etihad.

Maybe Mr King should not have said that.now our survival is only assured while he is their .Now before it is said I am changing my mind I am not,and Moor Lane is the preferred option.I do take on board what the previous post says I for one had not thought about it. But he as a valid point.

If we can get Moor Lane capacity up to 8000, that is surely the preference. Parking will remain a problem. Maybe a couple of park and ride facilities. One in Prestwich for away fans and one near The Willows for home fans. I think Gigg Lane would be the end of the club as we know it, and we would become another Oldham or Swinton.

Let’s face it, in reality Moor Lane can only be a stop gap for SL for all the numerous reasons stated, inc less than half the Willows capacity Survival part which will probably be limited in SL terms to a few years
The Club in my opinion has to additionally look ahead to where we ultimately want to be, as any business would.

The only money spent at Moor Lane should the amount to get it to basic standard for Super League. That is if they are sincere about it being a stop gap and I don't think they can make Moor Lane bigger and in my opinion we should not be spending money trying. If the council start giving us money their will be rucksions and rightly so

The only new money comes from either the Council or a benefactor. As Dixon13 rightly says, the Council won’t give us any more cash, their pet project cost them too much and they want their money back. I don’t think Moor Lane will be a stop gap. Once we’re there, that’s it unless new money comes along. Paul King was being honest that he’d leave if we moved out of the City. It was a mistake to say it because it makes him sound as though he’s fundamental to the club’s existence, which I’m sure wasn’t his intention.

Pretty sure that someone said that Moor Lane would be a 20+ year lease so unless we win the EuroMillions we ain't moving from there anytime soon.
The obvious solution would be for the council to move the stadium at Moor Lane down to where Moorside Rangers play on Agecroft Road. If Moorside are leasing that land then they could almost switch grounds. I'm pretty sure the Peninsula Stadium could be unscrewed and loaded on the back of a couple of lorries and transported down the road in a couple of days.😂 You'd then have the additional land to build the added infrastructure required and the trading estate where Nimans is would be ideal for match day parking. The Agecroft stadium could then be the Salford/Swinton community stadium that's been talked about for years.

There are lots of models of funding Community Clubs. Waiting for a benefactor is bit old hat now.

You need to look at the way community football and continental clubs are funded and operate; inc Barcelona, most Bundesliga clubs and lots of lower division English clubs.V simple case is F C United, who also got a new ground out of it
Lots of examples of it that are in the public domain,
