Their as got to be clarity today from the club,if this is allowed to go on we look amateurish either the coach is going or he isn't it as to be clarified one way or another. I personally think if it wasn't true we would of had it nipped in the bud first thing this morning, they could be discussing how he leaves on what terms but I think he is going. It would be great if we had someone lined up

I think in the first year the coach has to win the dressing room, put structures in the team, improve skill levels and get processes and a plan to take the team forward all showing progress.
At Huddersfield Watson, who’s not done much better than RM, has at least got the team singing his praises, whereas no senior member of the Salford team has praised RM. As has been said, he’s probably lost the dressing room, so game over.

Since crowds have been allowed back in, Ian Blease has sat just across from me, on his own each game. There have been a number of times he has sat there shaking his head. Add to that he has been in ear shot of the comments from the numerous long standing fans who sit in that area. Marshall himself sat a few rows back and must have heard and seen the same,
So many times the basics have been missing this season. We have gone backwards. Marshall often looked on the outside. When he went down to the touchline at the end of the games he did not appear to integrate with the players which may link in with the other stories we have heard.

That's it gone by mutual consent?? So we are on the look out for a new coach. Please be Ward or Rowley.

Not conjecture now a fact. Now we have to get the next part right, probably the most important appointment in my time watching the team.I also put on record I have know time for this we are not playing for the coach because they are not playing for us. I think it is the right decision but I have no time for anyone who not doing their job have helped phisilitate it.Because like I have said not playing for him is not playing for us

I'm guessing the magical 'ten games next season' rule some thought up was just buying time in vain hopes... This isn't a surprise if it happens. Yes we seemed to have perked-up and got onboard towards the arse end of the season, but the other three quarters of a season we were unbelievably awful. It's a results lead game so not a massive surprise we are looking elsewhere. In some respects the Salford of old would have taken the cheaper option and stuck with a coach until we couldn't literally ignore the awfulness for another year. It shows that the club are ambitious and even though we're financially close to the breadline are brave enough to make a bold change sooner rather than later. Of course, it's not verified by the club yet so we could all be totally wrong. We're a bit of a poisoned chalice really as a club, but also with the right person at the helm could really do good things. Head coach jobs are few and far between so I doubt we'd have trouble attracting somebody with the nuts to have a go. I admit I was in the more time camp but those at the club in a position to know much more than me (behind the scenes) obviously have their reasons.

Love it I also agree with the point, not playing for the shirt and having the professional mindset to work hard should be a prerequisite of being a decent rugby player.

Got told this earlier by someone who knows RM. Reckons the disagreement started when he was asked to go part time during the closed season and get paid Pro-rata. The powers that be wanted him to work between 12-16 hours per week. The lad could be speaking out of his Harris but this is what he was told.

If that's what happened,we don't deserve to be in Super League.did they ask the players the same

Having said that, let’s not dilute the overall story. He has left the club because results and performances were nowhere in keeping with the squad he inherited and all signs point to the fact that he’d lost the dressing room. Put another way,the so called disagreement about going part time,if true, wouldn’t have mattered a jot if he’d cut it as our head coach

The club and new coach agree a contract on December 1st and then the club immediately tries to change it to save money? Surely if money was an issue they would have just offered a lower contract.
