Saints very lucky but they are `Crafty Cheats` - 2 examples - On an opposition Up & Under on the last you will find Lewis Dodd or Percy obstructing Chasers & this is a new one - on their kick and chase in the Oppos 20 they will always risk a 6 again so the defence can get up in a line. Cynical winners under Mr Woolf. Don’t really agree they are cheating with these, just making the most of the rules. It’s where the 6 again is wrong, if that’s a penalty they probably wouldn’t do it Not sure about penalty try either, he was too far out, wasn’t a definite try. He hits the shoulder and slides up, it’s a tough one as he definitely ends up high. Agree re ref though. That penalty at PTB against Tomkins brought back a lot of bad memories. Not a great ref, but then there aren’t many of them out there [b It's not that he is not great,it's he is just know good.

I know this is going against the flow, and I agree that Thaler is the best, but I thought the ref did ok apart from his 2 howlers. If the tackle on Yaha was a foul, even if not a yellow card, than he was fouled in the process of scoring so it’s a penalty try. The penalty against Tomkins was beyond belief and effectively handed the game to Saints. Trouble is that the refereeing mafia will say that this decision was correct technically and mark him well. The test on the Tomkins incident is that if he’d simply let it go,I bet not a single Saints player or fan would have noticed.

I think if you asked any Salford player who played in the final they would say they felt cheated

The test on the Tomkins incident is that if he’d simply let it go,I bet not a single Saints player or fan would have noticed. I’d agree with most of this BR My big issue when Saints, Wigan, Leeds play is about offside at the pub; which is killing the game for their opponents They all seem to have a least one player out of the line cutting off passes, Naqu and Lomax at Saints, hooker at Leeds. In the NRL it isn’t allowed to happen its not just with this ref but with most except Thaler, who in the semi against Wigan penalised Wigan for it and allowed us to play SL refs seem to spend too much time with fiddly offences at the ptb as you indicated, in Oz they just tell them to get on with it. Reffing is a nightmare role but to me it’s how you view the game, the picky decisions which our refs do (as you say to the letter) or the big decisions which NRL refs do. I’m sure they’d have given a penalty try and not stopped Tomkins (or Pauli😩) at the ptb hence possibly changing the result

Bernard Gauche really incensed with reffing The punch on Malone, seen by th3 video ref; 10 min, and a couple of other things he quite rightly noted Whilst I’m ranting about refs the one thing I don’t understand is that the video ref sees foul play, wrong decisions etc and doesn’t speak. In RU they continually do to help the ref. Why not in SL if the info is there
That’s it, apologies 😩

Cynical winners under Mr Woolf. Early Bath, thank you. I’ve been trying to find a way of expressing how Saints play. Crafty cheats is perfect for me. That centre Percival epitomises their demeanour and attitude about the game. They are horrible to watch and the sooner they are knocked of their perch the better. I await today’s game with sadness but I think Toulouse are too good to lose the game. I wonder how the one eyed “fans” will cope with 2 French teams in Superleague.

Would welcome 2 French teams IF they played with a team of 5 non French players and 12 French players. At the moment they have the pick of French players, and can buy high quality English and Antipodean players. They’re French teams so …get French players
At the moment it’s French teams with mainly English and 5 non European players. This to me doesn’t benefit RL it just drains on English teams in terms of resources….the Man of Steel, Englishman playing in France.
I think its about time they developed a French SL…now that would be good. They have a French tv station lined up already so get on with it
Discuss😉

We're trying to have a sport that spans Boundaries The days in years gone by when You could stick a notice on the local schools and Social clubs for young people to start playing RL Have long gone, It's a Diffrent world and even the Top 4 SL Teams will never have A majority of local born Talent. Same as France even in RU You don't get a team as big as Stade Toulouse full of French players,

Agree KB, but two French teams could/ should be able to raise two teams of French players, if not they drain our talent pool. Gone are the days when they needed ten Antipodean players , I hope.
And on refs….Hick this time loose carry or ball steal…on a one to one it’s usually a loose carry when the player with the ball loses it ( you need to have seen the match for this) but not this time🤣

Not that we should be relying on away fans, but we kinda do, so that’s 2 games now where we’ll have zero or not far off away fans next season. Not ideal for a sport already on its back side

In the Same Way playing games against Three teams within 20 minutes Drive IE: Castleford/Featherstone/Wakefield Absolutely no appeal whatsoever.
