Personally I think we’ve seen worse teams over the years, as much as this has been a hard watch I don’t think that’s the only reason people are becoming dissallusioned. It’s been a really poor standard across the board this season, for all teams. Hull v KR yesterday was the best game I’ve seen for a while, and that was hardly Champagne rugby. All the cancellations are having an impact too, it’s becoming a joke. With all the other off field issues going on, talk of restructure, looking like we’ll have to move. It’s all negative All of this off the back of our best 2 seasons in (my) living memory, it’s no wonder people are feeling like jacking it.
I just feel as bad as this is, it’s not actually as bad as it feels. The signings we’ve made for next year seem positive, that’s a big plus. I trust King and Blease to make the right call on Marshall. They are ultimately fans and want the best for the club like we all do. They will make the tough calls I’m sure.

I'm sure the club will stick with the current coaches, but it is in danger of losing a good percentage of its core support at the moment. I've not seen so many angry, disgruntled, and fed-up Salford fans for a long time and some of them are those that prop-up the club financially in sponsorship. Something I've never seen happen before. The number of season ticket holders at breaking point is unbelievable. Not true. The fans were certainly not fed up before the game nor after the win against Huddersfield last week. I spoke with Sponsors too and they will be supporting the club no matter who the Coaches are next year & more interestingly no matter where we play & a ground in Manchester was touted by a couple of them. So Moor Lane may not be the ground we go to after all. I agree with you EB, the fans were buzzing before the game, even more so when we scored early on, then when we retook the lead, it went downhill from there. My family and myself will be there next season wherever we play and the least that we will expect on pitch is an improvement from yesterday’s performance which no one could have been happy with. Over the years that I have been supporter I have made too many friends not only from Salford but from other clubs as well to give up on it, my family feel the same. I wouldn’t be too unhappy if the two chaps behind us packed in coming ,at least I could be upset and embarrassed at losing but not embarrassed over the conduct of these two idiots.

Okay EB. We all bow down to your superior knowledge on all things. Forgive us for ever doubting the long game played by Salford Red Devils here. Bamboozling and bluffing us all into thinking we're on a helter-skelter to oblivion, when in fact, we're secretly enacting a masterplan for SL domination. RM is the Donald Trump of RL. Carefully playing 5D chess before springing the big hitting result...
Well, in all seriousness, we can't both be right. But we can both be wrong, which I suspect will be the outcome. We'll maintain the small group of masochists that follow the club but nothing will change with regards to our status in the game or on the playing front.

I wouldnt say I had superior knowledge Carnstar but I seem to have superior loyalty to the club than many on here. I do feel that you as `moderator` should show more support to the club on this `fans` forum.
The over reaction of some `fans` is very sad to see. If RM had been sacked this morning then I would have accepted PK`s decision and that I was wrong in giving RM my support.
If he wasn`t sacked and will be in charge on Thursday then I would expect everyone on here to get behind him and the team and be as loud and supportive as possible.

Discipline can be a fault of both the person and the coach. If they're getting taught a certain tackle technique which gives a way a lot of penalities then it's up to the coach to sort this. Have we seen a marked improvement in this area since we first started encountering this level of penalities? No. Coming from Saints who have the reputation of one of the best defensive records in SL history it's clear whatever technique they had Marshall has tried to bring over. It doesn't matter if you're playing against Melbourne Storm or Swinton, you allow yourself to concede 10 penalities and they concede 4 you're getting beat.

Carnster can speak for himself but there’s a difference between support for the club, and support for the coaching team. Of course, all supporters should be loud and be behind the team and coaching staff,on the night. This is a forum, though, the whole point of which is surely to give different viewpoints. I happen to believe that, ultimately,Marshall won’t make it happen. My support for the club means I want it to prosper and I can’t see it happening with him in charge. If performances change by the end of the season, great. That’s be perfect. If not,for heaven’s sake, don’t let him take us into next season for a further trial.

A very predictable result yesterday, we just can’t beat Leigh at their place. Beaumont being from Salford obviously see’s this as the big one for him and undoubtedly puts the bonus money on the table and does the big motivational speech. Our lot on the other hand viewed Huddersfield as much more important the week before.

We had our couple of years of glory and now we seem to be in a bit of a downward spiral. The ground is going, the Club says it has little money and depends on crowds, we seem to be recruiting young but really inexperienced players, Covid obviously has made life v unpredictable and I can’t make my mind up about the coach. We’ve had our share of injuries, illnesses with Covid, suspensions, poor reffing like everyone at times, lost our starting props but beaten our ex coach a couple of times, a point off beating Cas in the Cup etc etc Our problem is that whilst we had a good team on paper at the start of the season RM has never been able to ever put the best team out…that’s if he knows it. Every team has a bad year every 5/7 years, Leeds the year before last, Wigan this year but as people keep saying “it’s a results driven business and we’ve not got the results” but then neither did Watto early on, nor has he done this year The way SL is going and the direction we’re heading in I feel that in a couple of years we won’t be in SL, no matter who might come in. Moor Lane to me is the end. Presumably RM is picking his players for next year so even if we get a new coach, that person would come in to somebody else’s team And who would the new coach be…. ? Intreresting debate.

The problem for me this year has been the availability of the forwards from game to game. Losing Dudson, Flanagan, Lussick, Mcarthy, and Yates from last year followed by injuries/suspensions for Mossop, Ikahihifo, Pauli, Addy, Taylor, Wells, Roberts, and Greenwood etc,etc for large parts. Add to this the disappointment of Darcy Lussick and only having one hooker who also missed several games earlier in the year. Marshall just hasn’t been able to field a pack of forwards without making numerous changes each match. If you look at yesterday’s pack it was lightweight by SL standards and doesn’t give you any size, power and penetration.
The question I’d like to know the answer to is how did Watto keep the majority of his first choice pack mainly healthy for the past couple of years? Was he just extremely lucky or was the spirit, commitment, conditioning, and discipline much better? Maybe it’s just me but when the chips are down and the chance of some glory is out of sight there always seems to be more players missing. I make that comment at sports teams in general it’s not just aimed at Salford players.

What is it with us never beating leigh at their place. I would love to know our penalty count for this season, must be the most in the league. No excuse though for the simple things that cost us points like Tui's long forward pass or for Brown not to kick it out. We just looked so flat yesterday. Only Sarg I thought who was our best player but apart from that nothing else was positive for me You must have watched a different game from me. I thought he was awful

Marwan there with Beaumont Strong talk again of him joining Leigh. So they’ll now have a ground and good money and lots of tweets. And a lot of unpaid suppliers and players And false promises and bull$hit

No place at our club for 'fans' mouthing-off like that. There seems to be a fair number of grown men that seem to be so socially and emotionally stunted that they can't seem to contain their inner thoughts. It's a blight on sport, society, and men in general in my opinion. Please don’t use that word it’s offensive. *moderated myself. Apologies* - Carnster

It's an independent site so the moderators are not tied to towing the party line. It's hardly an over reaction by the fans. We've been here before all season long saying the same things. I'll always support the club regardless, but I wont do it blindly. When they do good, I'll praise them, but when they deserve criticism I'll deliver that to. I'm still entitled to my thoughts as a moderator.
