Thing is, everyone’s points are right on this, it just depends on which ones you hold most important. The government ballsed this up at the start but we are where we are now. I don’t think there will ever be a “right” time to open up, unfortunately you’ll never get everyone to vaccinate, and you can’t control other countries. To me, there’s risk involved in pretty much everything you do, catching other virus, crossing the road, playing rugby itself, all have risks. It just depends on the individual how you want to deal with it. Anyway, on topic I can see Oz and NZ sending over a B team with the NRL using this as an excuse to keep their prized assets at home. They aren’t interested in the international game. May give us a chance to win but would sooner see the main men Yes back to topic. I would hope there is a clause out in any agreement that stops them doing this, it would make a farce if the whole competition if B teams came over. Having said that they would probably still win the World Cup

If they want to send a B Team over, let them. If England can win the RLWC it'll be a great PR story for the sport. Those outside the "RL bubble" will neither know nor care that they were sending a B Team.

No you want to win against the best.So for me it would loose value just my opinion,

The Problem is with NRL Clubs Not happy the players of Aus Nz Plus the other Pacific countries that would have returned from the World Cup Who play in Australia Will only have two weeks before the End of the 14 day isolation before the start of Preseason and Friendly games. Compare the Conditions that NRL & Superleague players have while training Worlds apart weather and facilities The whole attitude is Narrow-minded. Australia as a whole seems to become a lot more inward looking in the past few decades In a way like the US The main focus of RL Is State of Origin which to be perfectly honest I wouldn't care to watch if It was played in the next street from me.

People on the forum have created at the narrow mindedness of some individuals running clubs over here,so we can't complain when they do it in Australia. And you know who they are.We have just got through the Euros, the Olympics are in a mess, they are now talking about when not if the next lockdown will be.And we are talking about a World Cup in October when that lockdown could come I know I will get called a defeatist, but it just does not seen sensible to me.

We are all entitled to our opinions of course, but I see it a lot differently. Australia has always been inward looking and State of Origin is probably the pinnacle of the sport at the moment. It baffles me why a RL fan would turn their nose up at watching RL played at the very highest level. After all, we may be Salford fans but aren't we also RL fans first and foremost? While Australia have never been overly enthusiastic around the International game it isn't difficult to see why. The northern hemisphere provides very little quality at International. GB fractured into its component parts making already weak teams weaker. A French side that has struggled to do anything, and emerging Nations full of heritage players that do nothing for the games in their respective countries. It's not surprising to see the emergence of Pacific Island nations to fill the gap. Lets add in the fact that the UK is plague Island for the world it isn't surprising to find Australia concerned about the consequences of sending its best assets around the world to be infected by a dangerous strain of Covid. Personally, I'd be surprised if much goes ahead sports-wise leading into winter, as the great English public have become world leaders in insular thinking and throwing off the chains of common sense generally...

Its about time we took a reality check. Just postpone it and stop the continual hype. RFL beginning to sound like Boris.
Get a Battle of the Roses and a real GB v The Restmatches on so that the Manager can get the team sorted.

In this carnster was spot on. The Aussies are luke warm at best to international RL. Having said that and given the evidence I think they were just looking for an excuse and almost anything would do.

Confirmed on BBC that Australia and N.Z have pulled out of the World Cup. It was ridiculous to think The Kiwis would come to the U.K with all of their NRL players based in Australia and not allowed to return home during the season. Sensible thing will be to postpone until next year.
On a side note, this is the lead story on the Beeb sport. They love to report R.L in a negative light. The cup final received hardly a mention.

It’s main story on Sky Sports too, so not just BBC. I don’t agree re it being sensible, Aussies being selfish and short sighted as ever. Pushing it back a year is a disaster and just another nail in the games coffin. As much as it wouldn’t be the same, perhaps we need to push on and show NRL we won’t be bullied by them.
