Where do the Salford FC fans park now or do they all walk to the stadium as they all live 5 minutes away from the ground? Where do away fans park? Is there is adequate parking nearby that fans can use on matchdays? If so, then the club could look at providing a park and ride service. There is probably a local bus/coach company that can provide three or four buses to operate a shuttle service for a reasonable fee (chuck in a cheap sponsorship deal at the ground, maybe). I thought SCFC had a park and ride system, if not now I'm sure they did. Maybe something we could get their advice on.

I was having a moan about Salford the other week and my wife, in her usual helpful way, suggested supporting Salford has been 40 years of pain and 18 months of joy.
She has just read about the stadium situation and asked why did we leave The Willows to end up Moor Lane. I didn’t have the energy to explain in detail but in no way should this mean the inevitable decline of our club. As a rule, I think Salford fans have never tried to deflect our problems by comparing us to anyone else.
However, after all this time some clubs STILL don’t have a stadium with as many facilities as M.L so I think this is an acceptable short term solution. Maybe even a blessing in disguise. I don’t think we are in a comparable situation to Swinton and have faith in the people who are running the club. I might be looking at things the wrong way, but I would look forward to going to a packed M.L on a Friday more than a soulless AJB.

I watch Salford city and prefer Mood Lane to the AJB. Parking can be an issue but I arrive around 40 mins before kick off and manage to get my usual spot about 10 mins walk from The ground. I am on top of the action and it is not as cold as my seat in the West stand at the AJB which requires a coat most games.
Capacity might be an issue occasionally but costs at the AJB are too high for us.

The two summaries of last night are excellent and cover the situation very well indeed.
There was one other area, however, that was mentioned. Paul King spoke about the club’s desire to become a “Community” based club, presumably with shareholders from the local community. He did not expand on his idea, but said he was excited by it. He said this meant far more than just being Squadbuilder by another name. It seems the Directors had held (or were about to hold) talks with the official fans’ group about this, which he saw as a realistic and positive way forward.
He also seemed genuinely delighted by the progress Paul Rowley is making with grass roots local rugby and the club’s links to local talented youngsters.
I left the meeting with some concerns but with relief that the people running the club definitely do have the determination to take us forward as best they can.

Surely we can't plan anything until we find out what the powers that be say.

I thought SCFC had a park and ride system, if not now I'm sure they did. Maybe something we could get their advice on. They did (potentially still do) have an arrangement with the IT Lab on Agecroft Road for a park and ride up to the ground. Used to run a shuttle bus every 10 mins or so up to the ground. That's about it though TBH for official parking. Street parking for those getting there early enough is on bottom half of Moor Lane (Littleton Road side of Kersal Road) Oldfield Road (bottom 2 thirds) and then you're looking at the other side of Bury New Road on the streets off Singleton Road. They have a lot of parking attendants out on match days and they're not shy of issuing tickets either. One thing I will say is that it doesn't potentially take up to half an hour to get away from the ground after a match like the AJ Bell and it's nearer for our friends from t'other side of the Pennines so they've got even less excuse not to show up for games!😁

We don't know if the RFL will let us play at Moor Lane that's what I ment🤔 If they let London Broncos play in a council stadium with makeshift stands then why would ML not be seen as good enough ? Then again we are talking about the RFL who make it obvious they dislike Salford.

A setback, but you can't stay for free forever
So a temporary survival solution, Moor Lane possibly BUT the Club, more essentially, has to plan for the future.
There are always opportunities. FC United and others have built and others rebuilt from scratch or dire situations. Got to be positive, and in a way this is an opportunity.

The problem with Moor Lane is the compact geography and the negative relationship with the neighbours due to lack of parking and rowdiness from the crowd.
But the solution could be in Salford moving there in the short term whilst the area fronting forest bank prison but facing Agecroft cemetery is developed into the new ground, this was the area originally put aside for Swinton RLFC and the folly club to reside, it is presently home to a football club.
Once built, Moor Lane could be sold off for housing to pay for the new stadium and any other investors that need paying off.
Obviously this then give an opportunity for Swinton to move back into the area.
The positives of this, we will have a captive audience near the dead centre of town.

Lots of options will be there and we have a choice - head down and grumble that we've been dealt poor cards - head up and use the opportunity to plan a bigger brighter better future ( whilst stabilising the Club in the short term)

Not sure what you mean by this? ?? We don't know if the RFL will let us play at Moor Lane that's what I ment🤔 Well they don't have a say really, and even if they did we'll just point at Belle Vue and ask what the hell they're talking about. We have to be real but everything that has happened here is not our fault it's more the RFL's actually.
Beyond that kick&clap proved what a vile sport it is that has such people in it!

I don’t think you can really point fingers at Sale in this. They want essentially what we want in owning their own stadium. Only difference is they can afford it and we can’t. Quite possibly if sale hasn’t been at the AJ Bell paying their rent the stadium could have been taken away from us as we haven’t been paying our agreed rent since we moved in and that’s by a long way! Hindsight is a wonderful thing but the stadium just wasn’t feasible with our low crowds and now sugar daddy

Looking back we should not have left the Willows.I was thinking back to a meeting in the Weaste Hotel,When I first found out about the 8,000 crowd we would need at Barton. I think it was David Tarry who said it.I did not think it would happen,Wilky and Tarry thought other wise.I know people have said the club was backed into a corner with the league,I go along to some extent, but I also thought Wilky wanted Barton to be is legacy, all that Mr Salford stuff.Yes he did a lot for the club, but then so have a lot of other people down the the years, but I do think he got it wrong, but like others have said you can't turn back the clock.
