This is probably the worst Salford team I've seen. Which confuses the hell out of me because we've got some top talent in the ranks.
I'm at a loss to identify what type of team we are. With most teams you can identify their philosophy. Teams that are defensive focused, like to throw it around, clinical, play a positional game, etc etc. We don't fit into any of those things. We're just an awful, muddled mess, and I'm being generous there.
HKR are bang average after watching that, and we're absolutely awful.
We have two choices as a club is how I see it. We back the management and hopefully ride it out to survival, or we get someone else in. Now I fully understand all the 'We can't afford to get rid' brigade, but in all honesty if the club didn't have a get out of jail free card in mind when taking on an untested coach at SL level then we deserve everything that's coming this season.
I don't wish RM or Orr any ill will but you can only be judged on what's in front of you and it simply isn't good enough for Salford, or in fact, any SL club at the moment.
We're staring down the barrel of relegation for sure and decisions need to be made either way.
Watching Salford at the moment is like watching a loved one slowly die by a thousand cuts. It hurts, I can do nothing to stop it, and I know the conclusion.
The club needs to fight for its life rather than sit back and accept the inevitable that is being played-out in front of its eyes. I just hope it finds its mojo and fight or die trying at least.

If the coaching staff go there are several players there that need to follow in short order. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Tui at Huddersfield within the fortnight based on Marshall’s interview. What did he say?

What did he say? The lady from Sky (Jenna?) asked him if Tui was injured when he came off as she couldn't get a straight answer. Marshall looked uncomfortable but said directly that it was a tactical decision because that side of the pitch was not "energised".

At least in this case most of the players are actually trying and there is some talent there.

Lets get Uri Geller in to warm them all up before Hudds. Richard can get them 'energised'.

I disagree giasf.
The teams of old were all triers and at least had structure. This team is beaten when it steps on the pitch. No direction, heart, or structure. Or at least I can't see any...

DIRECTION
We've been spoiled. Jackson Hastings and for games, Mr Brown. " No direction, heart, or structure" They gave it. We've got ONE in the making but … times running out.

I blame this whole shambles on one man Ian Watson. These are players he brought in and it’s obvious they don’t want to play for the current regime. The teams fitness got them through a lot of games but with IW taking the man who did this they now look totally knackered every game. If RM goes who would be brought in, those saying Rowley need to look back at his time at other clubs. It’s a mess and if Salford do stay up it will be a miracle

Even your mate Marwan, cue gnashing of teeth, tweeted that something has to change. There must be a change of coach. I respect your view regarding Paul Rowley so we should find one better.

I know it’s pointless but it’s the truth. He’s now unsettling players as well. I don’t know why the club did not go for Henderson. At the moment any change which sees the players actually start performing will be welcome.

The one thing that rankles me about Watson is his timing. To complete a season, get the players for the next season and then leave with his staff with the season looming is to me unforgivable.
He should, like perhaps Powell has done, have expressed his feelings and given the Club time to re-order itself. Or possibly he's just an opportunist.
It was s very self centred act, especially after the way he commented about the Hull approach. He of course does bear some of the blame for our current position. He continually talks about high standards of operation, getting people in with the right values, trust and ethics. Look in the mirror mate; plastic Salfordian. But we'll never know how the Club treated him.
Having said all that our present position is mainly of our own making.
