What amazes me is that you can lay somebody out and you get a couple of matches or you can call them a fat, filthy, xxxx xxxx xxxx xxx xxx and nothing happens but mention race and 8 matches. I am not racist in anyway, I am against any slur; racist, fat, evil, blind, ugly, whatever and I have lots of friends from ethnic minorities but is this not a tad unbalanced. It just seems the pendulum has moved a little too far for me. Not trying to be contentious it just seems a bit OTT. The fact he's presumably admitted it, would it not be more positive if he was to publicly apologise, not do it again and receive a shorter ban. I hate people being made an example of...rule by threat. I remember 2 Salford players being made examples of for different reasons, Chase and Hock, ( huge bans) and I never understood why. This sentence , presumably not for a planned act and in the heat of the mention doesn't sit right with me...but then again I could be wrong. Just thought I'd see what others think.

If someone called me a stupid English c###, I would be offended by stupid and c###. Not the English bit. Racism is deplorable but I have to say I do believe that in trying to eradicate it, things have gone a bit crazy.

We can discuss this kind of stuff, but I think I need to hold my hands up and say that I'm an English white fella living in the UK. My actual experiences of racism is very very small on a personal level, and due to my background that's hardly surprising. I don't presume to have an intricate understanding of what being on the other end of racism is actually like because it hasn't happened to me, or my family, or most of those I know on a day to day basis.
This is kind of the point though.
Many years ago my family became good family friends with Mark Horo and his wife when Mark played for Salford. I often remember him talking about how people of Maori heritage struggled for employment due to being Maori and the open racism in NZ and Australia at that time. I recall stories from Kevin Tamati saying similar things and strangely watched a vid on youtube recently with Tamati talking about his infamous brawl with Dowling. I hadn't released it was mainly fueled by Dowling's racial slurs. I write these stories to highlight some personal examples I know of. My point being here is that we don't get overly upset if we get called an English C### because we haven't had to grow-up and live in environments where racism can effect every aspect of your life, often in subtle and ingrained ways rather than so blatantly overt ways like Clubb was punished for.
For a sport that has pinned its colours to the anti-racism mast, it's scored a massive own goal in completely failing to understand why Andre Savelio and other Pacific Island heritage players around the world were right to highlight it. I don't think that's deliberate, but I do think that a lot of people only see things through their own particular cultural lens, and often these things need a broader understanding to find truth. The reasons why are too long a subject here.

To get back on topic... I've created the 'network' as requested by the club in the email so my dad , who is in our bubble can sit with us if we are successful in the ballot. What i'm not clear about is the 'test event' is that just so the club can see how their strategy works in practise ? So we all go in, sit down or whatever and leave again, or am i missing something? Is the test event a game / training session or something ?

I know it's difficult for the club to determine exactly how many can attend (the more bubbles the better as can sit closer), but any idea of total attendance, or even what parts of stadium to be used ( seating only) would I suggest be appropriate for a community club. I hate being negative, but constructive criticism is please keep us informed.
