I would have been there. But I was only 10, So can’t remember it. I can remember most of the players, though. That would have been big Jim at prop I expect.

It seems very unlikely I wouldn't have been there. If it was the one that was called off mid match because of snow and frost bitten players I was definitely there. I think 12 points had been scored if this is the one. |

This was in the days of the Willows pitch being a quagmire and resembling Blackpool beach Mr Snape was beginning to make Salford a fashionable club due to the successes of the Willows Variety centre. The original game was postponed due to bad weather but was played at a later date. It was the beginning of a great era,not matched since the last couple of years.
