Now that the season after Friday for us is officially done we look to next year. What from the signings confirmed rumours are your expectations and wishes for next year and what would your starting 17 be?

Not sure on the line up but priority for me is a 7. Atkin is not an organizer and we desperately need that, I'd look at Patton he is off contract with Wire and possibly looking for a club, I'm pretty sure he would compliment Tui.

Is it confirmed that Brown isn't doing another year? I got from this tweet that he might be going round again?

Brown is meant to be staying. Be interesting to see how many games he plays. I think Watto still has high hopes for Atkin.
Another half would be good but think it will have to be as cover rather than first choice given the 3 we already have there

I'd sign Patton but he would definitely want to be first choice for next year. the only way around it would be to have Brown as cover and get him more involved in the coaching side, mentoring Atkin and any up and coming 6s and 7s. I think Kevin Brown would also make a good club ambassador, visiting schools/colleges/universities

I don’t really get it with Patton, he’s bang average with an attitude of someone who thinks they are world class. Obviously Watto knows more than I, there may be some potential there, but I just don’t see him as any improvement on what we have as even second choice.

I get the attitude point its never happened for him at Wire. However asking Brown for another year is a risk given his age and Atkin never runs really close to the line to pass, and is not an organizer, granted he can back up well - he would probably do well at full back linking up longer term. Patton did the 7 role well against us in the last game v Wire with their young team.

Can he kick /can he pass /can he organise /has he speed/ can he tackle/ is his attitude right/ no long injury worries
If so Watto will sort him if Blease can get him at the right price
He has experience and he's local, so no big oncosts Grand Final, 2 Challenge Cup Finals, England Knights....but why hasn't he played this year?

I don't think Patton is bang average from what I've seen he's got it in him to be a top 7. Hest unfortunately fell victim to Wires desire to win silverware quickly with him being stuck behind how many halfbacks since he's broken onto the scene. He might not have crazy pace but he's got a good rugby brain, can organise and can kick both in field well and goals. He's like Danny Richardson who had to leave Saints and join cas to show how good he is and i think fingers crossed a move to Salford will be his choice.

Bloody good turn of pace and certainly knows how to back up.
Is Escare definitely signed for next year? Might be that Watson sees him becoming real asset who could play in the halves, hooker or FB, a player like that is the perfect bench filler.

I'd forgotten Anthony Mullally was at Toronto, maybe worth a look to add some more front row options, same goes for Adam Sidlow, was a good enough player and if I recall was handy to have if there was any biff

Sidlow is powder puff for his size and same with mullaly, neither punch their weight. Gotta aim for better

Ottawa have announced they won't be playing next year. Can 99% guarantee we'll see both Gilmore and Bott stay

At least this won't cause as many issues as Toronto, does make you wonder if the North American experiment is worth it?

I think Dec Patton has the potential to be a typical Watto signing. He needs a good run of games in a team that appreciates him and not looking to sign another Australian "Superstar". He certainly guided his young team around the park against us a couple of weeks ago. That is probably the most important area Salford need at the moment. Tui is not an organiser and he needs someone to guide the team. Kevin Brown is the perfect foil but only concern is if his body can deal with another year. If he can't then him and Watson coaching/guiding half backs would be a good combination.
