Was it me ? The commentary was unbelievably biased. Happy for the Warrington kids but bloody hell ! Embarrassingly biased. If I heard that that winger was 6ft 5 once , then I must have heard it a does times in the first half alone. Glad we won though, not a great performance by any stretch but needed to win to keep momentum.

We don't ever seem to be flavour of the month, much more like we're in the way.

No, the young Warrington lads were excellent, unlike the commentary team who were simply awful and apart from being totally in love with all things Warrington they continually kept getting players names wrong.

Poor performance by the Reds that. To be expected when the spine of the team haven’t practiced much together. But still should have been better. Atkin in particular was disappointing.
Pauli needs to sort his tackling technique out. Three times he was third in and tackled at or below the knee. Hopefully the disciplinary committee haven’t noticed cos he’ll be a big miss. He’s played really well last few games.
Still, it was good to see Moose and Lannon out there back from injury. Greenwood had another good performance. And it was great to see an academy product make his debut for salford, it’s been a while, he did well.
I know the sky commentators were annoying banging on about the number of young Warrington players but I’d love us to be in that position
Most importantly we made it 4 from 4 wins against Wire. Let’s hope we can make it 5 on Saturday

Not the best performance but as has been said, they only had 1 or 2 sessions together. Thoughts on Gilmore ? Worth a punt long term if he’s got a SL clause in his Ottawa contract?

Both Gilmore and Ashall- Bolt hadn't played for 8 months The team had one practice session together The team were told not to get injured And they won against a really well organised set of lads who obviously play/train together regularly. Objective achieved.

When a Salford team trains together for the least amount of time, and has no game time as a unit and looks out of sorts because of all that and comes back from 18 nil down er I'll take that any day of the week!
With academy sides even if you have one your production line is only any good if you're successful on the field in the first place. The best players amongst youngsters in the game will always gravitate to clubs that win trophies. If you're always at the bottom and don't get a look in come finals time each year every year they are simply an extra cost that cannot be justified in terms of the numbers of first teamers it produces. Having an academy side isn't an answer in itself until other things like a draft system are also in place.
By the way Kear's good under the high ball isn't he?

All Ottawa players have SL clauses in their contracts so we'll have to see. Both Gilmore and Bott showed a little of what they can do so I'd definitely like to see them given a chance if not for some good depth. Bott made some good runs and catches under pressure and those little kicks from Gilmore were good. All the forwards did well Lannon, Mossop, Pauli and Ackers in particular but unfortunately Atkin looked lost.

Think it must have been difficult playing in the spine. That's supposed to lead the team and they'd only ever trained once together. Think it was a good training run for the forwards and Inu probably needed another run.
