Thought it would be interesting to gauge our users input into where they think TW should be next season. I know we have another thread, but a poll cuts to the chase. Seems to be very devisive in the RL community, so should be interesting to see where we fall as a group.

Online we've become the lynch mob and noy just online either.

I think the poll results so far are quite balanced, to be fair. In fact, as of time of writing, more for keeping TW than relegating them, which doesn't seem to be the norm among the majority of SL fans.

Let them Back into SuperLeague ,Obviously they'll have a Points deduction, But you can bet it'll be a lot worse Than the serial salary cap breakers Wigan.

Maybe SRD fans are more sympathetic than most?

Perhaps, being at the receiving end of bad luck and bias, we may have both sympathy and empathy.

I am struggling to see the point of bringing them back in with a points deduction or other punishment. If it's a point deduction it'll only make it almost certainty that they get relegated because they won't be able to build a competitive squad. I am not sure what other punishment could be given to them?
Letting them back into SL just instinctively feels wrong to me. I am an expansionist but this whole project feels doomed to failure with the way it is structured.

I would let them back in.You can't give a point deduction it would defeat the object because as all ready stated it would in all probability relegate them.I would make the new owner or owners put up a bond monetary to prove that funds are available at least for the next season.Their as to be some be sort of punishment else it would not be fair to the existing stake holders. Just my take on it.Because what ever they do will be wrong.

So there are more for punishment than not.
Having been at the wrong end of one of those, I'm against them. Having seen what punishment did to others I was already anti. What I do know is that it rarely fits the crime whatever the old song said.

Leeds, understandably, failed to fulfil a fixture at Catalans. Should they have points deducted as well?

I voted to let them back in to SL with a punishment, however I think it should be financial rather than a points deduction. Maybe a substantial donation to the RFL Benevolent Fund or grass roots RL in Canada.
Like dixon13 , I also think the new owners should have to give money to the RFL/SL to be held in trust for a minimum of three years to make sure that, if the new owners are as incompetent as the previous ones, then players and back room staff will still be paid - even if it is only for a couple of months until they can find new roles elsewhere. This should probably also apply to any new venture and any club that has been bought out after going in to administration.

For what it’s worth , I think the punishment needs to be substantial.
No team should be able to pull out of a league and then be allowed back in the following year really , whether that’s Toronto or not
If they go back into Super League with a points reduction then realistically they’ll struggle anyway , does a fine let them get off lightly or set a precedent going forward if another team pulls out
Allowing Toronto back in doesn’t sit right with me and I’m pro expansion but it needs to be done right , maybe starting again in the Championship allows them time to get their house in order then if they win the league and get promotion they’ll have time to recruit properly

Could a business case be made if they had to re-join the championship? The takings from games must be reduced as the teams will not have the pulling power of a Wigan or Leeds. RL is not new to Canada but needs to be treated as such.
One of the problems in wanting a punishment is that it can do more harm than good … we could be handing Union the perfect advert for showing league as bad boys. We have lost a potential power in Japan; we need to watch we are not losing out more.

In the meantime Tony Smith hits the nail on the head,
