Interesting but I can't agree on a lot of them.

I commented on it at the time and it is absolutely abysmal! It’s not just the top picks but the honourable mentions. I think they’ve just picked the longest serving players to save time.

There was a lot of I'm a fan of his but no way he'd make my SRD top SL team.
Malcolm & Evalds would make it no problem.

There were a couple mentioned (Dorn!) who were not even that good for us and a few glaring omissions (I mean not to mention a Dream Team winger when the competition isn’t exactly strong is pretty poor). Yes pretty lazy effort.

I know they are trying but the level of dire journalism during the lock down is increasing.
You've got to think sometimes silence really is golden.

Yes pretty lazy effort. So what would yours look like? 1. Evalds 2. Broughton 3. Naylor 4. Sa’u (don’t know why he’s fallen out of favour so much with people lately) 5. Hodgson 6. Blakeley 7. Hastings 8. Mossop 9. Alker (not a massive fan but hard to argue) 10. Koppy 11. Jones 12. BMM 13. Flash Two of those were not mentioned at all. Honorable mentions (not covered in the article) in particular to Highton (i’d start him and bring Flash on), Moon and maybe Rogers (even though he relegated us!).

And what would your prefered side look like MR?

That's a really attractive side and I'm so glad you chose Steve Blakely it'd be between him and Ken Gill for my all time favourite 5/8s.

My preferred side, now that is tricky.
You could do 2 or 3 based on different prefaces.
Would have to be.
Evalds. Carney. Williams. Sau. Broughton. Blackely. Hastings. Dai Young. Alker. Big Red (his names escapes me in a Stella riddled haze) BMM. Coley. Cartwright.
Would love to have had MCB, Sini, Gregory and Phil Ford but they just miss out.

My overseas 13 would have to be.
Patten. Sini. Moon. Moule. Carney. Lui. Carney. Korkidis. Again the name escapes me, arrived as a Kiwi #1. Rutgerson. Flymo. Paterson. Cartright

Sini was a good cult hero. Cartwright was cracking- I’d never seen a player run lines like that at that time - but as he only managed 3/4 of a season it would be hard to pick him. I’d never pick Judas for other reasons. I don’t think Young, Ford, Williams (now you’ve edited it!) and Gregory played in Super League though.

Cartright Hooker - Peter Edwards. One of my favourite players. Was throwing no look reverse passes on muddy 90s pitches long before Rangi Chase appeared

Forgot it was SL only, I'll leave it as is because these are the best 13 I've seen in my lifetime.
Shock horror yes RL did exist before Sky changed it for ever.
