Yes,Yates will make the bench. Not sure how, though. Great problem to have. Williams for Inu would be the really big call but Williams has earned it. Brown and Tui were tremendous today

Flanagan and Yates and interchangeable i guess probably more to Yates depends how they've set up the attack with Yates being more like another forward.

Nice position to be in - Johnson also in with a shout - always makes good ground but surely Seb the signing of the close season. Inu`s kicking could sway a vote over Sio but they would be up against Grace. Agree Williams worth his spot.

I'm not so sure about Seb tbh. Yes he makes great yards going forwards but can we afford a 10 minute a half player? I know he played most of the second half today but he was blowing out of his arse after 10 minutes. Its pre season I get it but he looks very unfit to me. I think Brown will be the signing of the season total class act that fella.

Pauli looks a disgrace, still a fat unfit lump. Can't believe Greg hasn't managed to get hold of him during pre season. Questioning sebs fitness is crazy compared to Pauli

Seb is going to be amazing for us, I thought you was getting mixed up with Pauli, as he was blowing out of his a&£e. To be fair though it’s his first hit out and I’m looking forward to watching him this year.

Seb looked fine fitness wise he hardly played last season so to be running like that is good and can only get better

Pauli looks a disgrace, still a fat unfit lump. Tell him that to his face ! Size wise he is what he is,I’m more worried about the heavy strapping on his right leg

Pauli is Pauli. We're not gonna get a full 80 out of him but if we can utilise Brown's short balls which he did today a few times then he's gonna be lethal. He's only on a year so it's a win win if he disappoints.

With PP I think he is very much an impact player who will come good more when the weather improves and the games are less of a slog, remember BMM at times looked to be carrying some timber.
Look at it this way can you imagine what BMM would have done playing in the same side as Hastings last season? The mind boggles so to have PP playing when Brown is pulling the strings it really is an exciting prospect and besides I have no doubt we'll get PP fully fit (And if I recall he was always heavily strapped last season so thing it's just old injuries rather than anything new).

Pauli did 50-60 minutes today. In his first game of the season. His fitness is fine. Greenwood was the only forward who did more minutes than him. He’s carrying some timber and he always has done. He’s trimmer than he was when he came on loan last year I reckon.
He wasn’t caught out retreating in defence which was his problem at Wakefield. He was still taking carries and making tackles in the last few minutes. Charged out and put a massive hit on someone. Smashed another in a team tackle with Seb and Tyke.
Was inches short of scoring after a 30m run on his first touch. In the 2nd half he got a brilliant offload away after a 15m run. Another time it took 5 defenders to get him down. And at one point he put Junior on his booty. He did fine
When him and ikahihifo came on they both caused a lot of problems for the defence

I didn’t go today but it’s worth bearing in mind that Burke and Flash could hardly manage 10 minutes at the start of last season and they ended the season in good form. Not everyone starts at peak.
Watching Pauli last year some of his defending was cringeworthy so as long as he plays his part in defence and crashes over for a few against packed goal line defence then it will be worthwhile. If he can produce more than that, and he has the ability, then it will be a very good signing.

Something I've not considered before but does the club want every player to peak at the same time? Surely for some forwards it is better to reach optimum fitness later in the season when the ones who have peaked earlier are starting to flag and need a rest?
