Fingers crossed for no injuries but looking forward to see the combination of Evalds, Tui, Atkin/Brown and Lussick start to form.

Will be interesting to see if any cohesion is present with the new guys coming in. As long as it blows the cobwebs off and nobody gets a serious injury.

During pre season the only thing that matters is no one gets injured and they all get minutes under there belts, results mean nothing

Good work out that we took seriously. Pluses include Brown coming on and immediately looking the part and making an impact; Ikahihifo looked very lively; Greenwood is a big unit and he’ll be happier after coming back from a serious injury; Sargison and Rhys Evans are very direct and Tui exuded class. Obviously Yates is relatively small but a tackling machine. I think the first 13 more or less picks itself, bar the back row so the real interest is the bench where I suspect Atkins and Connor Jones will compete for one spot. Atkins on today’s performance. It was very interesting because of the new signings but the squad already looks pretty well balanced

Yeah, agree with that. A bit disjointed in the first half, unsurprisingly. When brown came on at the interval we looked dangerous. If he stays fit we will be fine this year. Ikahihifo was a wrecking ball. Sarginson put in a strong shift. Pleasing performance all told. Swinton just didn’t have the strength to go with us, as you might expect. I was sat 6ft from Stuart Littler and he was living every minute of it. Some fiery language got sent down his walkie talkie.

The Agecroft Cup and Peter Smethurst's lad presented the MoM to Sarginson.
