The arrival of Cliff Evans was the catalyst for our success in the seventies. Some of the rugby we played was magical.

Earliest half back I remember in any detail was Steve Kerry.
My favourite period of watching Salford was the Andy Gregory days. Best rugby I've seen us play. We were even great when we came up to Super League until things fell apart. Playing with three half backs really allowed us to be expansive. The defeat of Wigan in the challenge cup was an amazing moment. My number 1 as a Salford fan.

Cliff Eccles was just a hard tackling prop - Cliff Evans meanwhile was just a magical coach who taught things never seen before on a Rugby field. Agree with Dixon - A genius.
