Unbelievable what he has done for Salford in the way too short a time he has been here. But please don’t do that chest/ badge belting thing you did tonight. Your off to Wigan, if you really loved the club you would have stayed. Man of steel at little old Salford remember that. All the best to you enjoy it in the monotonous drone that is Wigan

Massive lose and a top guy. Can't stand it when players kiss, bite, punch eat the badge whatever the fans absolutely love him he will realise what he's missing something good is happening here Shame he won't be about to see it or be apart of it next season

A bit harsh.
I think Salford means a lot to him. I have no problem with him showing commitment to our club before he leaves for pastures new. We have to remember that Hastings ultimate goal isn't to play for Wigan, but to get another opportunity back home in the NRL. Whether you like it or not, the name 'Wigan' means something in Australia and he's more likely to get that call playing for Wigan than for Salford.
I have no doubt that he carries and always will carry, a great passion for our club. I wish him well. Can you imagine his last game being a GF appearance for us? We can dream.

Let's not forget what he means to us and what the club mean to him, he could have easily gone last year remember.

Very harsh indeed. Carnster is bang on. He's been exemplary and it’s the right time for him personally to move on. I’m struggling to think of a better Salford scrum half and I go back, just, to Billy Banks but, more obviously,Banner and Nash. Best Salford player since Watkins, said a scribe last night.

No need for that really. He’s run his blood to water at times and done as much off the pitch as he has on it. I’ll be enjoying every last minute of him in a Salford shirt and he can pound/kiss the badge as much as he likes.

Drink induced post after celebrating the fact that Salford yes Salford finished third in Super League I just hate that badge thumping thing players do. He is the best player I have seen at Salford and has done a lot for the club. Things are happening here though and it’s a shame he won’t be here to be part of it. I know him going to Wigan is a means to a end but seeing him in that shirt will be gut wrenching. Let’s dream of seeing him in the Grand Final with Salford, but no badge thumping please😀

Best player for a generation, I challenge anyone to name someone who has come into any team and made such a profound difference.
Jackson in 15 months has turned Salford into a team with a real chance of winning the biggest prize.

When Jackson Hastings arrived at Salford we were in trouble in the Middle 8 Playoffs. He was in a bad place and we took a chance on him and it paid off big style. He turned us around and made sure we didn't go down last year.
He then stayed loyal to Salford last year when he was offered more money by Wigan and has given us fans a great season. He has been exemplary both on and off the field and been a massive part of our Season. Probably the catalyst because we have seen all the players step up this year and perform as a great team.
Wigan have come in and offered him between 2 and 3 times the money he's currently on and greater exposure to the Aussie press. I can't blame him for going and it will be difficult seeing him in a Wigan shirt but I'll remember his time in the Salford shirt with great fondness. I think he's the best player we've seen playing for Salford since Neil Baker in the mid 80's.
I believe that Jackson will have a fondness for our club forever and wish him well and he gets his place back in the NRL.

There is also another aspect to Hastings and his fondness to Salford we haven't factored in.
Any player in the NRL we look to sign only has to speak with JH and you can 100% guarantee that he will sing Salford the fans and the Cities praises.
We have done right by him and he has done right by us, a great deal for both during his time with Salford.

Yeah, you can see how much this all means to him. He didn’t need to play this season for us, and is doing so because he loves the club. To have that level of passion and desire coming from the best player in the league is an amazing thing. I’m just enjoying the ride.
He’s basically saved Salford. Avoided a crippling relegation, and now earned us the prize money, extra tv money and gate receipts, plus the growth in attendances and consequent sponsorship that will help get the club on a much more secure footing.
Both on and off the field he’s been incredible for the club and if he wants to punch the badge, then good for him.

You raise a good point there, Hastings has if nothing else has put money in the bank, the income between now and the end of the season is a bonus as I can pretty much guarantee that it wasn't budgeted for before the season began, there is now a much greater marketability in the Salford brand and you'd think more bums on seats in as far as ST sales go.
A vindication for the Marquee singing rule, pity that it was Dr K who championed it yet we are 1 of the clubs who can't now actually afford it.

If Jackson doe not like it at Wign and if no aussie club come in for him, think he may come back to us ?

And I doubt we’ll see Hastings back here - he’s too good not to be playing in the NRL.
