I should start with saying that I'm not having a pop at the squad builder in any way, shape or form. It's a great idea which seems to have been embraced by a lot of fans.
However, is there a breakdown provided by the club of where those funds have been spent? Is there any transparency, accountability and evidence that these funds have been spent on funding player recruitment?
Honest question, not trying to upset the apple cart by asking this.
Cheers.

At one of the fans forum meeting one of Rosler/King (can't remember who) said it had brought in £60k and this was added onto our salary cap by The RFL. This would suggest it has been spent on recruitment, however I doubt they'll say who it was spent on as everyone will then know that players wages.
It would perhaps a good idea to assign a player/players to being the designated squad builder player(s) however there's always a risk that if they turn out to be a flop then it puts people off contributing in the future.

If you are not wanting to upset the apple cart then why ask the question? Other than wages what else do we actually spend money on?

Last time I checked this was a discussion board. The first squad builder resulted in Lussick signing. The results of this one were less clear. It was a valid question.

No we don't want to know about wages. But every other question is valid in my opinion.

I repeat...what else does the club spend money on apart from wages that isn't already a fixed cost?

Are we paying anything these days to play at the AJ Bell?

We pay to attend games and have no specific expectations on how that money is spent. The squad builder is in addition and is much like crowd funding which usually has a clear aim and target. The first one did, the second one hasn’t.
I’m not sure why there is any issue about asking how much was raised and where it went? Even a vague response (e.g. allowed us to sign an additional forward) would be fine. People like to know where their money is going when they pay over and above.

You got your answer in the second post on this thread. It was added to our salary cap. The lussick deal was fairly obvious last year as he came in near the end of the season. Do you need the club to attribute 60k to a specific player? If so, why?

Do you need the club to attribute 60k to a specific player? If so, why? Read my last post I explained what I would prefer to see any why - it’s obviously not sinking in. I don’t expect a detailed breakdown, just think something to pin the money to (even if vague) would help from a marketing point of view and give people more satisfaction from their contribution.

Don't try and belittle me by the "not sinking in" comment. It has sunk in. I just disagree with you. Guess what we did with the SQUAD BUILDER money? Yep, you got it. We built a squad. And a squad that costs 60k more than we had without it. Well done to everyone who contributed 👍

You seem to be very sensitive about this squad builder. I immediately get suspicious when I can’t ask questions about things. I’m fine handing over money as long as long as it’s not ‘no questions asked’ while chanting ‘in Blease we trust’.

I'm not sensitive about it at all. And I have no connection to the club whatsoever. You have just borne the brunt of my frustrations towards many fans of our club who always want more from the club than they can give. The whole operation is run by volunteers apart from a couple of staff. What does everyone expect?
