I wouldn’t agree it’s clear but I’d say Wigan are the favourites just because of money- he’s been very clear that he’s left all this to his agent. According to various journos, Wigan are prepared to offer an ‘NRL clause’ - this is why Leeds dropped out of the running.
In our favour is that he likes it here. If we can get anywhere near Wigan’s offer we stand a good chance. Realistically though it is doubtful we can get near what they are offering, although they don’t seem to be as flush as they used to be.
I’ve not given up hope yet. I do hate Wigan with a vengeance though and would rather he went anywhere else!

I reckon there is a smoke screen being put out, off the wall back to Australia and a wild guess St George

It is quite clear that Hastings is on his way....My money is on Wigan. Where is it quite clear? All i can see is that he is still tossing up the offers that he has on the table., probably looking at who we have signed for next season. If he likes what he sees then i think we could see him sign up for another year. living and playing with his best mate has got to be good for him. lets just leave it with him and see where we get to, remember this time last year Jacko wasn't even playing for us and nobody gave us a chance of retaining him. Also i have noticed quite a few of his Instagram activity and tweets have been very positive and alluding to the underdogs which we most certainly are!

Why is it clear? He says he wants to return to Oz but time not right this year. Would think Wigan would want at least a two year deal, Salford could offer a one year deal. So maybe us. I agree the time is not right to return to Oz, however Wigan are desperate to replace Williams and I’m quite sure they would offer 12 months just to get him onboard...I hope your right however. He is a fantastic player and looking him celebrating in the changing room after the win against Wakey also gave me the impression he is liking the Reds...The things that will sway his decision are wanting to play on a bigger stage (in front of 10000 gates instead of the just over 2000 against Wakey) and the possibility of winning silverware which be honest is still a little to far in the distant for us. A good win against Castleford on Friday and a finish in the top five and few more through the gate might and I say might just tempt him. Fingers x

According to Love Rugby League, Leeds wanted to sign Hastings immediately but Salford wanted £400k or no go. I might be reading too much into it but the fact that they were even willing to entertain an offer makes me think that they know he is going next year.
The article also states two NRL clubs are interested- fingers crossed he goes there rather than Wigan. He deserves better than that lot.

400k is a lot of money from that we could get a fairly decent nrl standard half with it.

I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that by going out of the challenge cup when we did we missed out on 150K which would have secured our funding for the remainder of this season. Assuming this means that we have a 150K gap in our funding, they may well have seen a further 2 years security coupled with a 100K to recruit a reasonably adequate replacement as too good an opportunity to pass up. As much as i'm sure we would all be devastated to lose him, i suppose this kind of pragmatic approach might have been understandable had it gone ahead.

Press stating Wigan are going for Richardson should they not land Hastings If Hastings goes to Wigan, we’ve obviously got some money set aside for a halfback - Richardson would be a good shout for us and surely wouldn’t be on as much. Whether he would fancy it is another question.
