The game on Friday had a strange feel to it, almost as though the players know something that's happening behind the scenes that the fans aren't yet privy to. For me it felt as though the players were completely bereft of confidence after what happened the previous week against Leigh. They need to buck up their ideas quickly before we find ourselves in the MPG or worse! I must admit that for the first time I'm starting to feel worried about the future of our club, but hopefully we can roll our sleeves up and get back to winning ways. It could be that the players who are not being retained, have been told. That wouldn't have been the brightest strategy to end the season with. I do find it odd that there's almost nothing in news items eminating from the club and, although I don't like to draw conclusions based on next to no evidence, this is almost more worrying than the team's efforts on the paddock.

what can be done to turn things around before its too late ?? I was away so I didn't go to the match but all the reports received said that it was diabolical. Funnily enough, when I saw the 17 it said that Kopczak wasn't starting. I remember thinking that I wouldn't have gone that route as he lays down a great platform. This team are capable of going to Leeds and causing an upset and they will be up for it provided there's nothing going on behind the scenes. It does seem that the imports have unsettled the team so they should be on the bench. Vidot should play or be sent home, unless he's genuinely injured. JJ should play centre with Griffin on the wing. Again, remember this is sport and the people most affected by the teams failure would be the team itself, and the coaching staff,so there's every incentive for them to pull this out of the fire

Woooooahhhh! Everyone calm the funk down for a second. We will lose to leeds but then win our last 3 games and qualify AND WIN the million pound game. We should have beat Leigh and we had 1 bad game against KR but we've not become a bad side over night. Stay positive the club needs us in a pretty $hitty hour of need....Let's keep positive we can get out of this.

Taken my time to put my thoughts down as I wanted to calm down as frankly I was ready to call time on anything Salford related Friday night.
Firstly when walking through Eccles I thought that there's lots of muppets out in United shirts, only to then see a sign on one pub saying tonight's game was being shown live, why why WHY do we not learn and avoid clashes (pretty sure the AJ Bell was free Saturday and Sunday) to at least try and maximise the amounts of bums on seats.
Then to the game, when we kicked off and Burgess put one hell of a bell ringer on first tackle I was enthused only for that to be about the only hi light, early doors it seemed to me to be a tactic to pummels Tilse every time he got the ball and very little else, we seemed to revert to the Salford of old where we drop the ball back inside to a rumbling forward to run back at the ruck/PTB, you would think when we have someone of the calibre of Tim Sheens looking on from on high he might spot that constantly kicking the ball to the same blade of grass for Marsh to catch after every restart wasn't working and possibly try and vary things.
Have said for a long while Johnson has nothing but pace (and that seems to have diminished drastically) and it was an obvious tactic target him whenever possible, Evalds or Vidot would be a better option, Evalds scores for fun and can actually catch a rugby ball and Vidot would have done the job Carney usually does. If against Leeds Johnson is anywhere near the 17 it hows a lack nads to change things.
We seem to have 2 second row forwards who are getting heavier rather than more toned as the games go, Mateo might have the skills but it's hard to utilise them when he's waddling behind the line trying to catch up, they might not be everyone's cuppa but at least the Walnes are young, fit and play with a little passion.
Kopczak can hold his head very high after Friday, to see him screaming at his own team mates imploring them to pull their collective fingers out was refreshing but depressing at the same time, someone of his skill set should be a leader of a pack on the front foot not one looking in their handbags for a wet wipe.
It was very much the Salford of old and it is troubling as that Salford of old retreats into a series of shocking defeats followed by a gutsy win against a better team and further narrow defeats, we hit this pattern and it's Batley away next year not Catalan.
I can't make my mind up if it was nerves, players knowing they are t being retained and have thrown in the towel or that they know at the end of the season things are about to go seriously nipples north and have nothing left to play for. A statement for the Doc is urgently needed to calm nerves (certainly of the fans and possibly the playing staff) not an expletive riddled rant as I am staying and see my future as the owner of a strong & prosperous Salford.
I had the feelings when I was heading home Friday that I thought Salford had finally spared me from, to walk away after being beaten by a better side who played good rugby I can handle but Hull KR with the greatest respect are poor and just simply capitulated and gave them confidence. I felt cheated and at the time it was and FU moment.

Completely agree with what you say about Kopczak @michiganred - he looked gutted when the full-time hooter went. He was showing great leadership all game.
Also I agree that Evalds should have been on the wing ahead of Johnson, who for me had a complete stinker. He's Championship quality, not Super League.
It's a concern that MCB is injured for the remainder of the Middle 8's. Hopefully Carney isn't too far away from recovery. Perhaps we should rest him against Leeds and focus on the last 3 games. In saying that, Leeds might think that playing us will be a walkover, so we could cause an upset at their place. Fingers crossed.

And I forgot the worst thing about Friday, I spotted a ginger in a flat cap - Fashion faux pas
Evalds has to play and for me Vidot also, MCB is gone now and Johnson is going to be heavily targeted by Leeds so shake it up and bring them both in. Griffin looks like he's already wearing Black & White so I'd drop him and play JJ in the centres, start with Kopczak and bring on Burgess not the other way round as last Friday.
It's something I've mentioned before but at the start of the season it seemed we deliberately started the games at a million miles an hour to try and swamp teams early, there's every chance we've already lost against Leeds so why not at least try it, nothing ventured and all that.

I'd seen that last week.

Odd as you'd think that they would attract more away following at the weekend and more atmosphere for themselves. My point is more why when a fixture like this was scheduled didn't someone just check it didn't clash before finalising details, it's not rocket science. The RFL/SL want bigger crowds so it is in their best interests and besides wasn't it decided before the season home games against Lancashire and Cheshire teams were to be Friday evening and Yorkshire teams on a Sunday?

Well they did have a few weeks to sort this out. I can only think Hull KR booked something like a training camp for this week, starting Saturday, before Salford had the nous to realise that there was a clash. Otherwise I don’t get it.
