With Jackson Hastings coming over and playing for us it got me thinking. Which players have made such an impact in the Red shirt. For some of our older fans they may remember this great of the game. Neil BakerAnother one is Paul Shaw who also came over for a short spell

Used to go to the gym with Neil. I remember him running along the line, chipping over a couple of forwards and sidestepping the full back to score under the posts, brilliant. Playing stand off at the time.
A mate of mine visited him in Oz about 10+ years ago. He was in good shape.

It was a Game at the Willows Against Leeds he did it twice in the Second half and got a try from one of the kick and Chips. Brilliant it was . I threw my hot Dog in the Air and It was the only time I Wouldn't have Being bothered for wasting £1.30. We still lost though🙄

Think I remember him in the dim and distant.
Think Clinch had the same type of effect and obviously there's Paul Cabbage 😂

An absolute joy to watch .... certainly in my all time Salford XIII, and he only played a handful of games. Fabulous player

and sadly, that is the only footage of him available. Even more sadly, there appears to be absolutely nothing video wise relating to the genius of Peter Williams 😕

In one game he chipped over twice in the same run. Probably the only time I’ve seen it done. Peter Williams just oozed class, until Dean Bell took him out !

In recent times Dunnemann was unbelievable for the season he was with us, really lifted us a level.

My dad loved Peter Williams. I’m sure I’ve got a VHS tries of the season during his spell somewhere.

I never saw Baker play but Paul Shaw still one of my all time favourite players. Similar impact to Hastings that season.
I agree about Peter Williams. So much grace and style in his attacking play and a decent defender. Loved his chip over and catch to set up a try in the Lancs Cup Final in 1990

And David Watkins, speed, class and could kick a ball miles incl free kicks.
But I still think Baker was special, bit of a Harlem Globetrotter type.

Notice Cruickshank playing alongside him there. Another good import for us, and a lovely fella. Never saw Baker, but remember Paul Shaw as the best I've ever seen in a Salford shirt.
