Just want to gauge peoples opinions, seeing its all quiet on here at present.
After all the comings and goings do you think that Watto as finally got the team he wants.
Is the team now assembled good enough to survive the middle 8s.
If we survive the middle eights, will we have more departures to cut costs or will we be looking to strengthen.
Will we see more big earners leave for more bargain basement signings.
Can we keep Lui , Sau, Hastings and Koppy or is, god forbid Shorrocks and Olpherts the standard of player that will become the norm.
Even worse will there be a Salford next season.

He wouldn't have wanted to lose BMM and GOB but circumstances dictated and if they hadn't been sold we would be insolvent by now. He has had one arm held firmly behind his back in all of this.
As for being strong enough to stay in SL then i would say yes if Hastings, Lui and Evalds stay fit plus if Lussick is as good as we are led to believe he is then that should be the security we need. There are enough players returning from injury to give us a squad that can compete, just look at the Leeds performance.
If we do go down then we become a Leigh and divest our best talent so relegation is not an option.

The game against HKR is crucial, I think. Win it, and we need to win 4 from 6 which is entirely possible. Lose it and we need to win 4 from 6 to be in the mpg. That game, as we all know, is something of a lottery. I hope we have our best team out on Friday and that a bit of luck goes our way.

It would be great to win on Friday. But it is not imperative to do so.We will the 3 home games and at London and Halifax.10 points.

I genuinely worry that we haven't invested in the attacking backs enough and still appear to be bringing in even more back row options in Turgut.
Think our survival rests on the shoulders of Lui and Hastings and them getting the best out of a team with fragile confidence, think also Lussick needs to bring that positive happy to the club that Hastings appears to have.

It's a team game. We have needed a scrum half and a constructive hooker all season. Now we have a good 'spine' it'll be good to see how the forwards can make good ground and the backs can flow. The Leeds game was a revelation. I feel confident.
Oh and we have a goal kicker, now that's novel!

According to league weekly we have Kopczak, Griffin, Burgess, Welham and Johnson available again. Also new faces in Turgut and Lussick. For once Watson will have choices in the squad.

Yes,he hasn’t had to worry about team selection too much,it’s picked itself. Its a good problem to have but difficult to shunt Murray for Burgess, for example. Does Welham replace Chamberlain,or move the latter to the wing. My team, although I’ve probably forgotten someone important ! Evalds Bibby Chamberlain Sau Johnson Lui Hastings Kopzcak Wood Murray Ben Lannon Flash Tasi Burgess Lussick Turgut or McCarthy or Welham

Evalds Bibby Sau Welham Chamberlain Lui Hastings Mossop Lussick Burgess Jones Lannon Flanagan Tasi Kopzcak Woods McCarthy If that 17 stays fit and Hastings/Liu gel then there's no team apart from maybe KR on Friday to fear in the middles.

How the hell is Burgess getting picked abover anyone? Let alone Murray, whose has been outstanding the last few weeks

I rate Burgess. No world beater but solid. Injuries have not let him have a decent run in the team unfortunately.
On the original post - I expect we will lose a few more next year and replace them with younger players. If they get it right it should be fine but the recruitment this year has been patchy at best. I expect Lui, Sau, Koppy, Mossop and Jones to go at least. Don’t imagine Hastings will stay either. As long as they have proper replacements lined up (i.e. a scrum half for a scrum half) then I’m relaxed about it.
I think we have enough for the qualifiers but anything could happen.

I think we'll be ok in 8's, after watch Leeds I'll go as far to say we should come 1st/2nd especially if we keep Hastings fit. I also think the club needs to do all it can to keep him next year. We all know he's here on a short term deal to put himself in the shop window but the club needs to pull out all the stops to keep him and we need to keep showing how 'crazy' we are for him, and pull in his emotions a bit, singing his name loud every game, like we did on his debut.
