11th Place Fixture Formula Home vs. Toronto 1st Home vs. Widnes 12th Home vs. Featherstone 3rd Away at Leeds 9th Away at HKR 10th Away at Toulouse 2nd Away at London 4th As is stands in the leagues right now our middle 8 games would be. Any idea what dates the middle 8's games are likely to be played? Assume they start w/e 10th-12th August? I'm missing the Leeds game due to being stuck in Lloret with the Ryanair strikes and have bloody weddings in August playing havoc with the sporting calendar. Some right inconsiderate bastards in my family!😂

It's tough one for me this, I fancy our chances against Toronto better than Leigh but I still don't want them to be there. They must be breaking the cap, and not only did they turn GOB's head, they outbid / gazzumped us for Matty Russell and now MCB. I hope they get taught a lesson in the 8's.
mind you I can see it now, Salford V Toronto in the MPG, all square at 80 minutes, it goes to golden point extra time... write your own ending. We'll just have to make sure we're not in the MPG, FWIW, I think we'll finish 2nd behind Leeds.

Would love to see how the RFL would handle it if Toronto didn't make it.
Sure they would contrive a way to ensure they are in the top flight come February next year.

In some ways, the sooner it happens the sooner it will end, IMO.
A few weeks of excitement, and even a mention of proper rugby by the BBC. Oo look, Canadians joining in with the sport for peasants. Let's have a look.
Then, come March, it will be a fixture where, for both sides, if more than a hundred away supporters turn up it will be a bonus. That's one revenue stream fewer. Then the corporates will start to have a rethink as to whether they want to be paying, year in and year out, return flights and accommodation for the best part of thirty people eleven weeks a year, and that's just for the opposition, and before cup and play-offs are considered. And then they have to pay for the Canadian team until there are enough people going through the turnstiles and enough merch being bought to make them self-funding.
Then the RFL will plead to no avail as the money dries up and the sponsors disappear, and the sport will be without the Canadian fixture, and poorer because Red Hall will have spent shedloads trying to keep the deal afloat in Bradford-style handouts to the team and dozens of flights back and forth to Toronto for talks.
If there's a transatlantic team in Superleague in 10 years time, I'll go to Twickenham and buy a ticket to watch kick and clap. But it won't take 10 years. How long did PSG last?
Don't like being pessimistic, and, indeed, rather like the idea of a team from Ontario playing TGG at top flight, but I can't see it as being sustainable as long as I've got a hole in my arse.
I expect that this has been discussed before, a few thousand times.

I really hope you’re wrong. I want Toronto to succeed. It’d be great for the sport. From Day One I thought it was destined to fail, for all the reasons you’ve given. Having said that,I spend time in SW Florida and a new League team has started there with good quality and enthusiastic social media. So there is some truth in the sport spreading.

If London beat Barrow away tomorrow by 45 points then (by previous years structures) we would be playing Toronto, Widnes and Toulouse at home, with Leeds, HKR, London and Halifax away. I personally would be happy with these fixtures. Not counting chickens but based on last nights performance and expected injury returns then am more confident about our SL prospects.

Just thinking of things Leigh could still technically make the top 4, surely that would be the ideal scenario as following their last minute fire sale they are massively weakened and a much easier prospect than the team who beat us in the CC.

I'd Wager a Shilling or two that London will win in Barrow Aka The World's biggest Cul De Sac. But Not by 45 points. I'm Quite looking forward to sampling the Delights of Ealing and Hammersmith one of my old stamping grounds especially Belushi's . Fairly certain we will Navigate the Qualifiers A lot Better with Hastings & Lussick and The Players back from injury.
