Ian Watson is keen to recruit Yates to Huddersfield Giants and the two clubs have held talks to try and negotiate a deal. But they can't agree on a transfer fee, with Salford holding out for a larger sum than the Giants have so far offered to let him move on.
Yates, signed a new deal with the club earlier this year, keeping him contracted until the end of 2022. Yates is open to making the move to the Huddersfield but Salford will only sell for the right price. As it stands, a deal hasn’t been reached and Yates will remain at Salford for the time being. Watson’s remains determined to land Yates, and has put him at the top of his priority list.
Salford, are already in the market for middle forwards, would have to find another forward to recruit should they lose Yates, and would enter a market with limited availability, with a number of clubs across the competition already trying to land overseas props. Catalans, Leeds and Wakefield are also shopping in the same market.
Talks are set to continue leading into Christmas.

On this weeks BBC Super League Show, Tania Arnold was interviewing Hastings about the St Helens v Wigan game and asked him what he thought of Wigan adding that he was there at the game. Now I may be overly suspicious, but when she said he was there, I red light flashed in my head. Fast forward to last nights match Wigan v Wakefield and Brian Carney during his TV presentation commented on Hastings future saying "He will be here in Super League next year. And when I say here I mean HERE at the DW Stadium."

According to the Club it's again looking at ways to get old fans back and new fans involved. So we must have lots of ideas! So any ideas? Simple! start by winning matches.
