Not that we were ever linked with him but Ashton seems to be lined up to sign for London next season. I’d feel much better if we had a proper scrum half next year - even if it was a young unproven one.

Yeah thats the one. They’ve got too many half backs at Cas and he’s the odd one out. By no means the finished product but shows some promise.

id be tempted to have look at Morgan Smith at London, takes on the line, came through the academy system at Warrington.

As Tomkins and Wood are both off contract then I wonder if Atkin has been signed as an interchange 9/utility half. If we are still after another 7 then would prefer us to look at Sammut/Drinkwater/Hodkinson. Players with a few miles on the clock and in-game knowledge. The Littlejohn/Shorrocks debacle proved how important an organising 7 can be.

I’d really really hope so. We look a bit one dimensional so I’d prefer a bit of ‘zip’ - Sammut would be good and Smith definitely.
I find it strange that Watson seems to steer clear of players in his own image. He was a scrappy scrum half not too dissimilar to young Aston.

The signing of the next 7 is possibly even more important than the signing of Hastings was as he has proven get a good un and we are capable of significant progress.
If we have signed Atkin I'm happy but only with him as the 3rd halve, I'd personally would have loved to have seen him watch and learn from Hastings as they both have a good running game.

I'd take Sammutt in a heartbeat. I remember when he ran rings around Salford back when he was playing for Bradford. He's got some skills.

Reports a few SL teams are looking at Jack Render from Featherstone, pretty decent winger by all accounts, hopefully we are one of the interested teams.

According to Love RL. I'd take that, BN just doesn't make enough hard yards for me and we have never adequately replaced BMM and PP more than does that for me.
One in, one out at Salford
Salford Red Devils are always busy with incomings and outgoings in the transfer market, with prop Ben Nakubuwai set to leave the club at the end of the year.
The Fiji international is set to return home to Australia when his contract expires at the end of the campaign. However, Wakefield Trinity back-rower Pauli Pauli will join Salford on a permanent basis from 2020. The former Newcastle Knights and Parramatta Eels man enjoyed a successful loan period at the Red Devils earlier this season, scoring three tries in three games.

Fully agree. I like Big Ben but not enough get up and go on him, he is too nice for a prop forward A bloke his size should be making easy yards but he just does not do it. Reminds me of Lama Tasi in that respect and we never missed him.

It's obvious that Brock Lamb going to Londinium is a case of come on look at me, wonder if he shows himself to be a decent #7 (from what I remember of the NRL he has talent) if we might take a punt.
My hope is that he works some juju and helps KR/Leeds go down.

One of the weekly RL papers reckons we shouldn’t expect any more signings other than the 7 (and I’m assuming the possibility of making trials/loans permanent) which is slightly worrying.
Also Wood to Wakey is rumoured on Twitter which seems strange as he’s not been fit for some time.

Just read this morning that Kevin Brown hasn’t signed for us yet and is mulling over a few offers, and that Josh Wood has signed for Wakefield, was hoping they made a mistake and it was Josh Woods from Wigan.
