I was at this game. It was the first match after the 1988 Lancashire Cup Final when we pushed a star studded Wigan team all the way in front of a bumper 20,000 crowd at Knowsley Road. Paul Shaw had unbelievable side stepping ability and was a very elusive runner but he was never the same player after that shocking tackle. It was as bad as you will ever see on a rugby field.

Paul Shaw was the first RL player I ever saw in the flesh that had the Wow! factor. He had all the tricks of Rangi and a few extras up his sleeve. I wonder whatever happened to him?

Does anyone remember when we played London Harlequins at The Willows and it finished 5-2? It was absolutely throwing it down with rain and I think it was live on Sky. The only try-less game I recall seeing.

The only try-less game I recall seeing. At the time it was Super League's only try-less game - and I don't think there's been one since either. Record breakers are Salford

And it was the first game of Sean McRae's glittering reign in charge if I remember rightly

It was torrential rain and I couldn't fit underneath the shed. I was stood to the right, near the toilet/gutter. One of the worst games of rugby I've ever seen!

How about Salford v GB at the Willows in the late 60s / 70s Abandoned at half time cause the snow and ice on the pitch made the game a mockery.
I can't remember any other abandoned games, but maybe there was a floodlight failure along the line?

Jimmy A bit early for me this one, but I do remember us playing Wigan in the snow at the Willows and I think we beat them too. You could hardly see the pitch it was that bad!

The worst match I saw was when I wagged it off school, went to watch a cup replay at Swinton and somebody won 2-0 in the mud, under old rules!

I remember playing Wigan in the snow, wasn't it a friendly in the January? I think I remember us winning, then we played them in Super League a few weeks later and got beat

I am doubting myself now tho! I remember I drove to the match could barely see a few feet infront of the car on the motorway

Anyone remember the game a few years ago when the stadium announcer left on the microphone by mistake in the box on the willows roof? Everyone could here him chatting away to the scoreboard operator for what seemed like 5 minutes whilst the match was being played. They were completely oblivious to it until someone must have ran up to the roof to tell them.

When we played Wigan in the snow I think it was circa 2005, and it was late march!
